Lido TV is a Canadian web television variety show, which premiered on CBC Gem in 2022. [1] Created by musician Lido Pimienta as a creative outlet after the COVID-19 pandemic halted her ability to tour in support of her 2020 album Miss Colombia , [2] the series presents perspectives on various social issues through a blend of sketch comedy, puppetry and musical performances by Pimienta and special guests including Nelly Furtado, Shad, Kittie and The Halluci Nation. [3]

The series premiered on September 23. [3] In advance of its television debut, it screened in the Primetime program at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. [4]

The Polaris Music Prize is a music award annually given to the best full-length Canadian album based on artistic merit, regardless of genre, sales, or record label. The award was established in 2006 with a $20,000 cash prize; the prize was increased to $30,000 for the 2011 award. Miss Colombia is the third studio album by Colombian–Canadian musician Lido Pimienta. It was released on April 17, 2020, through Anti Records. The album features collaborations with Li Saumet, vocalist of Bomba Estereo, as well as Rafael Cassiani Cassiani and Sexteto Tabala. The album was nominated for several awards, such as the Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album, the Polaris Music Prize and the Juno Award for Recording Package of the Year.
