Lilian Masediba Matabane Ngoyi, "Mma Ngoyi", was a South African anti-apartheid activist. She was the first woman elected to the executive committee of the African National Congress, and helped launch the Federation of South African Women.

The Sentinel-class cutter, also known as Fast Response Cutter due to its program name, is part of the United States Coast Guard's Deepwater program. At 154 feet (46.8 m) it is similar to, but larger than the 123-foot (37 m) lengthened 1980s-era Island-class patrol boats that it replaces. Up to 58 vessels are to be built by the Louisiana-based firm Bollinger Shipyards, using a design from the Netherlands-based Damen Group, with the Sentinel design based on the company's Damen Stan 4708 patrol vessel. The Department of Homeland Security's budget proposal to Congress, for the Coast Guard, for 2021, stated that, in addition to 58 vessels to serve the Continental US, they requested an additional six vessels for its portion of Patrol Forces South West Asia.
The Barbados Coast Guard is the maritime element of the Barbados Defence Force. Its responsibilities include territorial defence, patrolling Barbados' territorial waters and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), as well as conducting maritime law enforcement, counter-narcotic, search and rescue, fisheries and environmental protection and the enforcement of port & harbour regulations. The Barbados Coast Guard currently is based at its headquarters at HMBS PELICAN in Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados. The base consists of a partially enclosed base for the coast guard fleet to dock. It consists of a small fleet, including its flagship HMBS TRIDENT.
The Dutch shipbuilding firm The Damen Group, designs and manufactures a wide variety of vessels, including a range of related patrol vessels known generally as the Damen Stan Patrol vessels.
The Damen Group shipbuilders, based in the Netherlands, has managed the manufacture of Damen Stan patrol vessel 4708 for South Africa and the United States. The vessels, like the earlier Damen Stan patrol vessel 4207, are designed for high speed coastal patrols. They can be flexibly configured to serve in a constabulary, environmental protection, or warship role.

The County class is a class of offshore patrol vessels for the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard. Based on the Dutch Damen Stan 4207 patrol vessel, the first vessel entered service in 2005. Three were purchased, but only one remains in service with the JDF.
Lillian Ngoyi is the lead vessel in the South African Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries's Lillian Ngoyi-class inshore patrol vessels. She was built in South Africa by Farocean Marine based on the Damen Stan patrol vessel 4708 design. As well as fishery protection duties, the vessel is equipped for cleaning up oil spills, search-and-rescue work, fire fighting and limited towing. The ship will operate up to 200 nautical miles offshore.
Florence Mkhize is an environmental protection vessel operated by the South African Ministry of the Environment. She was launched in June 2006. At 14 metres (46 ft), and capable of 65 knots, she is smaller and faster than four earlier environmental protection vessels. The three vessels in the Lillian Ngoyi class are 47 metres (154 ft) long and capable of 25 knots.
USCGC Margaret Norvell (WPC-1105) is the fifth Sentinel-class cutter , based at Miami, Florida after commissioning. She was launched on January 13, 2012, and delivered to the Coast Guard on March 21, 2013. She was commissioned on June 1, 2013. She was commissioned at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans, near where her namesake staffed her lighthouse for decades.
USCGC Charles David Jr is the seventh Sentinel-class cutter. Upon her commissioning she was assigned to serve in Key West, Florida, the first of six vessels to be based there. She was delivered to the Coast Guard, for testing, on August 17, 2013. She was officially commissioned on November 16, 2013.
