The Democratic Party of Illinois is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is the oldest extant state party in Illinois and one of just two recognized parties in the state,along with the Republican Party. It is currently the dominant party in the state,controlling the majority of Illinois' U.S. House seats,both U.S. Senate seats,both houses of the state legislature,and the governorship.
Sarah Steelman is an American Republican politician from Missouri and State Treasurer from 2005 to 2009. She is currently serving in the Office of Administration in Governor Mike Parson’s administration. He is a member of the Democratic Party and the most recent member of the party to hold that office. Following his service as State Treasurer,he was appointed as a managing director with Northern Trust,leading a multi-disciplinary team that includes banking,investment management,and trust/advisory services.
