The Link-BR2 is a Brazilian military datalink developed by the Brazilian Air Force and the defence company AEL Sistemas. The system entered in operation in December 2020, [1] and was conceived in the early-2010s, by the necessity of Armed Forces of a communication system to the exchange of information between all military of the country. [2]

The Link-BR2 allow the exchange of data such radar information, videos and images with other units of the three branches anytime and anywhere, using an advanced encrypted protocol with a high degree of security. In the Air Force, the F-39E Gripen, F-5M, A1-M and the A-29 Super Tucano, will operate this system. The E-99 AEW&C and facilities in the ground also will be part of the datalink. [3] Other air units are the UAVs and the KC-390 in active service and the future A330 MRTTs to planned service for 2022. [4]

A major part of the tests campaign was conducted by the Fourteenth Aviation Group (1º/14º GAV) based in the Canoas Air Force Base in the Rio Grade do Sul state. [5]

AV-TM 300 Cruise missile

The AV-TM 300 Tactical Missile or MTC-300 is a Brazilian cruise missile that is under development by Avibras for the Astros 2020 system. Nicknamed Matador ("killer"), it is projected to be a less expensive alternative to the American Tomahawk (missile). The missile is equipped with a central computer that combines a Ring laser gyroscope, connected to an active GPS navigation device that uninterruptedly supplies positioning information for course correction. Apparently there also will be a naval version called X-300. The missile can use a single warhead of 200 kg of high explosive or cluster munition warhead with 64 submunitions for anti-personnel or anti-tank targets.

The MAR-1 is an air-to-surface (ASM) and surface-to-surface (SSM) anti-radiation missile (ARM) with INS/GPS capability under development by Brazil's Mectron and the Aerospace Technology and Science Department of the Brazilian Air Force. It is designed to suppress enemy air defenses (SEAD) by targeting surveillance radars and fire-control radars.

14-X Unmanned hypersonic experimental aircraft

The 14-X is a Brazilian hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) under development by the Aerothermodynamics and Hypersonics Laboratory Henry T. Nagamatsu of the Institute for Advanced Studies (IEAv) and the Brazilian Air Force, equipped with three liquid hydrogen powered scramjet engines, launched by a VSB-30 rocket, reaching 100,000 feet of altitude and a maximum speed of Mach 10. The name is a reference to the 14-bis, of the Brazilian inventor and aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont.

Aerospace Operations Command Brazilian space command

The Aerospace Operations Command is a Brazilian air and space command created in 2017 and is part of the Brazilian Air Force. Is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing and controlling the country's air and space operations. The Brazilian Navy and Brazilian Army also are part of the organization.
