Lisa Crosato is an Australian-born opera soprano, musical theatre actor, and ballet dancer based in the United Kingdom. [1]

Biography

Crosato was born in Australia and is based in the United Kingdom. In 2001, she performed in the Andrew Lloyd Webber tribute Masterpiece: Live From the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing, which was a televised concert and was recorded for CD and DVD release. [2] In June 2003, she took the role of 'Good Fairy' in The Australian Ballet production of Wild Swans at the Victorian Arts Centre in Melbourne. [3] On 11 October 2008, Crosato sang soprano for An Evening of Schubert with the Midland Festival Chorus and Orchestra of the Swan at Worcester Cathedral. [4]

The Mariinsky Theatre is a historic theatre of opera and ballet in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Opened in 1860, it became the preeminent music theatre of late 19th-century Russia, where many of the stage masterpieces of Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov received their premieres. Ballet Manila is a classical ballet institution and dance company in the Philippines. Locally the company has performed in 47 cities holding more than 4,100 performances. The company has done tours in Asia, Europe and North America, where it has held more than 140 performances. The company is most notable for its in-house creative director, principal dancer and prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde. Along with Ballet Philippines and the Philippine Ballet Theatre, Ballet Manila is one of the three major ballet companies in the Philippines. It regularly held its performances at the Aliw theater and Star Theater which were damaged by a fire in 2019, which are both located within Star City at Pasay. The concept of a ballet company by the dancers, of the dancers and for the dancers was the idea of Lisa Macuja-Elizalde when she, along with ballet master Osias Barroso and ten other dancers established Ballet Manila in 1995.

<i>Black Swan</i> (film) 2010 film by Darren Aronofsky

Black Swan is a 2010 American psychological horror film directed by Darren Aronofsky. The screenplay was written by Mark Heyman, John McLaughlin, and Andres Heinz, based on an original story by Heinz. The film stars Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Mila Kunis, Barbara Hershey, and Winona Ryder. The plot revolves around a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet by the New York City Ballet company. The production requires a ballerina to play the innocent and fragile White Swan, for which the committed dancer Nina Sayers (Portman) is a perfect fit, as well as the dark and sensual Black Swan, which are qualities better embodied by the new rival Lily (Kunis). Nina is overwhelmed by a feeling of immense pressure when she finds herself competing for the role, causing her to lose her tenuous grip on reality and descend into madness.

Francesca Hayward English ballet dancer and actress

Francesca Hayward is a Kenyan-born English ballet dancer and actress. She is a principal dancer in the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden in London. In 2019, she starred as Victoria the White Cat in the musical film Cats, an adaptation of the stage musical of the same name.
