Lisa Marie DeAngelis is an American neuro-oncologist and Physician-in-Chief and Chief Medical Officer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
DeAngelis was born and raised in New Haven,Connecticut,to father Daniel DeAngelis. She graduated from Hopkins School and Wellesley College. [1] Following this,she earned her medical degree at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1980 and completed her fellowship in internal medicine at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. [2]
Following her fellowship at the hospital,DeAngelis joined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) to complete her second fellowship under the guidance of Jerome Posner. Upon completing her fellowship,she joined the faculty at MSKCC and was appointed Chair of the Department of Neurology in 1997. [3] In this role,she focused her research on the neurologic complications of cancer and led national trials of investigational drugs for primary central nervous system lymphomas. [4]
By 2012,DeAngelis was serving as Chair of the Department of Neurology and Co-Executive Director of the Brain Tumor Center. She also held the Lillian Rojtman Berkman Chair in honor of her mentor,Jerome B. Posner,and served as Vice President of the American Academy of Neurology. As a result of her accomplishments,DeAngelis was elected a Member of the National Academy of Medicine. [4] A few years later,in 2019,she was appointed the Physician-in-Chief and Chief Medical Officer of MSKCC. In this role,she was expected to oversee all clinical services,research,medical education,multi-center collaborations,and seven regional care sites across New York and New Jersey. [3]
During the COVID-19 pandemic,DeAngelis was recognized in Crain’s New York Business' 2020 Notable in Healthcare List for being "a visionary leader for the MSK community," [5] and on Avenue Magazine’s The Power List 2020. [6] In November,DeAngelis was awarded the Oligo Nation’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her leadership in the field of neuro-oncology. [7] The following year,she collaborated with David Scheinberg to establish Break Through Cancer,a foundation aimed at accelerating collaborative research,clinical trials,and cures for the deadliest cancers. DeAngelis is married to Peter Okin,a cardiology specialist. [9] They have two sons together,Daniel and Stephen. [10]

Josep Baselga i Torres,known in Spanish as JoséBaselga,was a Spanish medical oncologist and researcher focused on the development of novel molecular targeted agents,with a special emphasis in breast cancer. Through his career he was associated with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center,Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology,and the Massachusetts General Hospital in their hematology and oncology divisions. He led the development of the breast cancer treatment Herceptin,a monoclonal antibody,that targets the HER2 protein,which is impacted in aggressive breast cancers.

Hedvig Hricak was born in 1946,in Zagreb,SR Croatia,SFR Yugoslavia and earned her MD degree from the School of Medicine,University of Zagreb in 1970. She was Chairman of the Department of Radiology,Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from November 1999 to January 2023. She is professor of radiology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
Robert E. Wittes was Physician-in-Chief of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center,from 2002 until December 31,2012. Prior to his appointment at MSKCC,he was Deputy Director for Extramural Sciences and Director of the Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis at the National Cancer Institute,where he oversaw NCI's extramural clinical and basic research programs,including the evaluation of new therapeutics,diagnostics,and translational research. George Bosl is an American cancer researcher,holder of the Patrick M. Byrne Chair in Clinical Oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City,and is a professor of medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Kathleen M. Foley is an American physician. She was an Attending Neurologist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She worked as a professor of Neurology,Neuroscience,and Clinical Pharmacology at Cornell University Weill Medical College. Foley made contributions toward making palliative care for cancer patients accessible. Abramson was the first chief of the ophthalmic oncology service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center,where he is a tenured professor in surgery,pediatrics,and radiation oncology. He is also a professor at Weill Cornell Medicine,where he was the youngest full professor ever appointed in ophthalmology. He pioneered intra-arterial chemotherapy,which cures cancer whilst saving the eye from enucleation,in 2006. He is the recipient of many awards,including the Stallard Medal from the International Society for Oncular Oncology,the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology,the Weisenfeld Award from the Association for Research In Vision and Ophthalmology,and the Franceshcetti Medal from the International Society of Genetic Eye Disease in Switzerland. In addition to his academic pursuits,Abramson was a triple gold medal winner in swimming at the Maccabiah Games in Israel in 1961,set four NCAA records during his time as the Captain of the Harvard University swim team,and was an Olympic alternate in 1960 for the 800 meter relay team. He has been inducted into three halls of fame:the Retina Hall of Fame,the Harvard Varsity Club Hall of Fame,and the Brooklyn Technical High School Hall of Fame.
