The club has won the League Championship six times, the State Cup seven times and the Toto Cup two times.
Beitar Jerusalem Football Club was established in 1936 in the city of Jerusalem. Beitar is the only Israeli team that won the PeaceCup in 2001 after win A.S. Roma 1–0.

Beitar Jerusalem was established in 1936, and initially played in the Jerusalem area only, due to travel difficulties. In 1946 the club first played in a national tournament, and joined Liga Bet the following season, although the club withdrew shortly after the season started. [1] The club was first promoted to the top division in 1954, spending one season at the top division before immediately dropping back to the second division. The club returned to the top division in 1968, and it played at the top division ever since, with the exception of two seasons. The club won its first major trophy in 1976, winning the State Cup, and its first championship in 1987. In total, the club won 6 league championships, 7 State Cups and 2 Toto Cups

The Israeli Premier League, is a professional association football league which operates as the highest division of the Israeli Football League – the state's league of Israel. The league is contested by 14 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with its second division Liga Leumit. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing between 33 and 36 matches each, totalling 240 matches in every season.
The 1954–55 Liga Alef season was the last in which it was the Israel's top football league, as the following season it was replaced by Liga Leumit and became the country's second tier. It consisted of 14 clubs, the 12 from the top division in the previous season and two promoted clubs. It used two points for a win and one for a draw.
The 1958–59 Israel State Cup was the 21st season of Israel's nationwide football cup competition and the sixth after the Israeli Declaration of Independence.
The 2014–15 Israeli Premier League is the sixteenth season since its introduction in 1999 and the 73nd season of top-tier football in Israel. It began in the end of August 2014 and ended in May 2015. Maccabi Tel Aviv are the defending champions, having won their third Premier League title, and 20th championship last season.
The 1963–64 Liga Gimel season saw 155 clubs competing in 16 regional divisions for promotion to Liga Bet.
