    A Chinese independent high school is a type of private high school in Malaysia. They provide secondary education in the Chinese language as the continuation of the primary education in Chinese national-type primary schools. The main medium of instruction in these schools is Mandarin Chinese using simplified Chinese characters.

    Project 985 Chinese higher education project of Jiang Zemin

    Project 985 was a project that was first announced by General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Jiang Zemin at the 100th anniversary of Peking University on May 4, 1998, to promote the development and reputation of the Chinese higher education system by founding world-class universities in the 21st century. The name derives from the date of the announcement, May 1998, or 98/5 according to the Chinese date format.     Dr. Maszlee bin Malik is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Education in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from May 2018 to his resignation in January 2020. He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Simpang Renggam since May 2018. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH opposition coalition. He was previously an independent after leaving the Homeland Fighters' Party (PEJUANG) and after his Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) membership had been terminated.
