The following is a list of Colgate Raiders men's basketball head coaches. There have been 20 head coaches of the Raiders in their 123-season history.^[1]

Colgate's current head coach is Matt Langel. He was hired as the Raiders' head coach in April 2011,^[2] replacing Emmett Davis, who was fired after the 2010–11 season.^[3]

Emmett Davis is a former American college basketball coach. He coached Division I for 26 seasons and is the winningest coach in the 115-year history of Colgate University, with 165 wins in his 13 seasons. Davis is currently managing the Mid-Atlantic Regional Accounts for Sports Technology Industry Leader, XOS Digital. Born in Gloversville, New York, he is a former player at St. Lawrence University. Davis spent 12 seasons as an assistant at the US Naval Academy from 1986 to 1998. He coached NBA All-Star and Hall of Famer David Robinson. He helped Navy head coach Don DeVoe to three NCAA tournament bids in his last four seasons at Navy. In 2011–12 he served as an assistant at the University of Tulsa in C-USA. On March 16, 2011, Davis was released from his contract as head coach of Colgate University. He was replaced by Matt Langel.

The 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 8, 2010, with the preliminary games of the 2010 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, and ended with the 2011 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament's championship game on April 4, 2011, at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The tournament's first-round games occurred March 15–16, 2011, in Dayton, followed by second and third rounds on Thursday through Sunday, March 17–20. Regional games were March 24–27, with the Final Four played April 2 and 4.

Matt Langel is the head coach for the Colgate Raiders men's basketball team. He previously served as an assistant for the Temple Owls men's basketball team for five seasons under Fran Dunphy.

The 2011–12 Temple Owls men's basketball team represented Temple University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team played their home games at the Liacouras Center, which has a capacity of 10,206; as well as one game each at the Palestra and Wells Fargo Center. They are in their 30th season as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. In their previous season, Temple compiled a record of 26–8 and reached the NCAA tournament. The team returned four starters from the previous season, but lost power forward Lavoy Allen to graduation. He is replaced by incoming recruit Will Cummings and transfer Dalton Pepper. Anthony Lee will be eligible after red shirting last year.

Christopher Michael Beard is an American basketball coach who is the head men's coach at the University of Mississippi. He also previously served as head coach at Texas, Texas Tech, Little Rock, Angelo State, and McMurry. Beard graduated from high school from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas. He was a manager at Texas under former Longhorns coach Tom Penders, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. He received a Masters of Education from Abilene Christian University where he served as a graduate assistant in 1998.

John Francis "Jack" Bruen was an American basketball coach. He's known for coaching Colgate University to two NCAA Tournament appearances, before dying from pancreatic cancer at age 48.

They finished the season 25–9, 14–4 in Patriot League play to win the Patriot League regular season championship. They defeated Lehigh and Lafayette to reach the championship game of the Patriot League tournament where they lost to Boston University. As a regular season league champion who failed to win their league tournament, they received an automatic bid to the 2020 National Invitation Tournament. However, the NIT and all other postseason tournaments were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the creation of mini-divisions to cut down on travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they played in the North Division. They finished the season 14-2, 11-1 in Patriot League Play to finish as champions of the North Division. They defeated Boston University, Bucknell, and Loyola (MD) to be champions of the Patriot League tournament. They received the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to Arkansas.

The 2021–22 Colgate Raiders men's basketball team represented Colgate University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Raiders, led by 11th-year head coach Matt Langel, played their home games at Cotterell Court in Hamilton, New York as members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 23–12, 16–2 and Patriot League play to finish as regular season champions for the second consecutive year. As the No. 1 seed, they defeated Bucknell, Lehigh, and Navy to win the Patriot League tournament. They received the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive year. As the No. 14 seed in the Midwest Region, they lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Wisconsin.

The 2022–23 Bucknell Bison men's basketball team represented Bucknell University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bison, led by eighth-year head coach Nathan Davis, played their home games at Sojka Pavilion in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania as members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 12–20, 5–13 in Patriot League play to finish in last place. They lost to American in the first round of the Patriot League tournament.

The 2022–23 Colgate Raiders men's basketball team represents Colgate University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Raiders, led by 12th-year head coach Matt Langel, play their home games at Cotterell Court in Hamilton, New York as members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 23–8, 17–1 in Patriot League play to finish as regular season champions for the third consecutive year. As the No. 1 seed, they defeated Loyola (MD), Army, and Lafayette to win the Patriot League tournament. They received the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive year. As the No. 15 seed in the Midwest Region, they lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Texas, finishing their season with an overall record of 26–9.
