Dempo Sports Club is an Indian professional association football club based in Goa. The club was formed in Goa in 1968.

Popularly known as ‘the whites’, the team has been a constant participant in all the national football championship and gained immense popularity in the last four decades of its existence.

Dempo have won the League championship 4 times, and the Federation Cup once. They were though the winners of the 2006 National Football League Second Division.
The Federation Cup, also known as Hero Federation Cup for sponsorship reasons, was an annual single round robin and knockout style club football tournament in India that started in 1977. From its inception, until I-League was started in 1997, it was the most prestigious national level club football tournament in India. Until 2017, it was the most important club tournament after the I-League, to which it became a de facto League Cup. The winning club of the Federation Cup gained a chance to compete in the continental level in AFC Cup.

Clifford Rayes Miranda is an Indian professional football coach and former player who is the head coach of I-League 2nd Division side Goa Reserves, the reserve team of Indian Super League side, Goa. During his playing days, Miranda played for Dempo in the National Football League and I-League from 2000–2015. During his time with the Goan side, Miranda helped Dempo win five league titles and four domestic cup honours.
