The Mayor of Johannesburg is the highest elected position in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa. Since 2000, he is the chief executive of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality council. The position remained vacant from 24 April 2023, when Thapelo Amad announced his resignation after less than three months in office. On May 5, 2023, the council elected Al Jama-ah's Kabelo Gwamanda to the position.
