Futboll Klub Partizani, or FK Partizani for short, is an Albanian professional football club based in Tirana, that competes in the Kategoria Superiore. Founded in 1946, the club was historically affiliated to the Albanian army. Partizani's home ground is the newly built stadium at Partizani Complex. The club also uses Arena Kombëtare also known as Air Albania stadium for matches in European competitions and major domestic football derbies in Albania.

The 2007–08 Kategoria Superiore was the 72nd season of top-tier football in Albania and the tenth season under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season began on 25 August 2007 and ended on 17 May 2008. KF Tirana were the defending champions, having won their twenty-third title the previous season.

Historically the rivalry between KF Tirana and Partizani Tirana football clubs, the two biggest in Tirana the capital of Albania, has been followed by many football fans and much spectacle either on the pitch, or on stands between Tirona Fanatics and Guerrils. Matches between these two teams have a long history and have almost always made the first page news in the country. Between years 2008-13, following Partizani's relegation, and also during 2017-18 season with Tirana's relegation to a lower division, the derby faded away for a while until its return during the 2018–19 season.

The 2018–19 Kategoria Superiore was the 80th official season, or 83rd season of top-tier football in Albania and the 19th season under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season began on 17 August 2018 and ended on 30 May 2019. Partizani, won the league title on 12 May 2019 with 3 matches to spare.

In the 2008–09 season, Partizani Tirana was again relegated from the Kategoria Superiore after eight seasons playing in that competition, after a loss in the relegation play-out against Kastrioti Krujë, in a game that was marred by poor refereeing decisions as well as violence.

The 2019–20 Kategoria Superiore was the 81st official season, or 84th season of top-tier football in Albania and the 20th season under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season began on 23 August 2019 and ended on 29 July 2020. Tirana, won the league title on 19 July 2020 with 2 matches to spare.
