Television returned to Poland in 1952 and for several decades was controlled by the communist government. Colour television was introduced in Poland in 1971. Zostań modelką, Cycle 2 is the second Cycle of an ongoing reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model that pits contestants from Poland against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win the title of the next Polish Top Model and a lucrative modeling contract with NEXT Model Management as well as an appearance on the cover of the Polish issue of Glamour and a nationwide Max Factor campaign in hopes of a successful future in the modeling business. The competition was hosted by Polish-born model Joanna Krupa who served as the lead judge alongside fashion designer Dawid Woliński, journalist Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska and photographer Marcin Tyszka.

Kuchenne rewolucje is a Polish reality television series broadcast on the TVN, in which Chef Magda Gessler is invited by the owners to spend 4 days with a failing restaurant in an attempt to revive the business. It is the Polish version of British Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.
The fifth series of Mam talent! began airing on TVN on 1 September 2012 and ended on 24 November 2012. All three judges from the previous series: Agnieszka Chylińska, Małgorzata Foremniak and Robert Kozyra returned to judge the contestants. Marcin Prokop and Szymon Hołownia present the show again. The series was won by acrobatic duo Delfina & Bartek, with dancing duo Pitzo & Polssky coming second. Acrobat Anna Filipowska came third.
MasterChef is a Polish television series based on a British television cooking game show under the same title. It premiered on TVN on 2 September 2012. The show is hosted by Magda Gessler, who also hosts a Polish version of Kitchen Nightmares on the same channel. She also serves as the head judge and is joined on the panel by Michel Moran and Anna Starmach. It was broadcast on Sundays; seasons 1–3 were at 8 p.m., while season 4 was at 9:30 p.m.
