The following is a list of Northwestern State Demons basketball head coaches. There have been 11 head coaches of the Demons in their 108-season history. [1]

Northwestern State's current head coach is Rick Cabrera. He was hired as the Demons' head coach in March 2023, [2] replacing Corey Gipson, who left to become the head coach at Austin Peay. [3]

The Winfield Dunn Center is a 132,000-square-foot (12,300 m2) facility, located on the main campus of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. Construction began on the (then) $5.3 million facility in 1973, and the building opened in 1975. It is home to the Austin Peay Governors men's and women's basketball teams through the 2022–23 season, and will continue to be home to Peay's women's volleyball team after the basketball teams move. It also serves as an indoor practice facility for the baseball, softball, and track and field teams. It also houses the athletics department's weight room and the David P. Roe Academic Services Center which was named for alumnus Phil Roe. The building was named for the governor of Tennessee at the time of its construction.

The Austin Peay Governors men's basketball team represents Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Governors play in the ASUN Conference starting in 2022–23, following 61 seasons in the Ohio Valley Conference. The team's most recent appearance in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament to date was in 2016, making the field of 68 by virtue of having won the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball tournament. The Governors' head coach is Corey Gipson.

The Northwestern State Lady Demons basketball team is the women's basketball team that represents Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The team currently competes in the Southland Conference. The head coach is Anna Nimz.

The 2013–14 Northwestern State Lady Demons basketball team represented Northwestern State University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Demons, led by second year co-head coaches Brooke Stoehr and Scott Stoehr, played their home games at Prather Coliseum and are members of the Southland Conference. As champions of the 2014 Southland Conference women's basketball tournament, the Lady Demons received the conference automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament.

The 2014–15 Northwestern State Lady Demons basketball team represented Northwestern State University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Demons, led by third year co-head coaches Brooke Stoehr and Scott Stoehr, played their home games at Prather Coliseum and were members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 19–15, 10–8 in Southland play for a tie for a sixth-place finish. They were champions of the Southland Women's Basketball Tournament and received an automatic to the 2015 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. They lost to Baylor in the first round.

The 2018–19 Belmont Bruins men's basketball team represented Belmont University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bruins, led by 33rd-year head coach Rick Byrd, played their home games at the Curb Event Center in Nashville, Tennessee as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 27–6, 16–2 in OVC play to finish in a tie for the regular season championship with Murray State. They defeated Austin Peay in the semifinals of the Ohio Valley tournament before losing to Murray State in the finals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, their first ever at-large bid, where they defeated Temple in the First Four before losing in the first round to Maryland.

The Demons, led by 23rd-year head coach Mike McConathy, played their home games at Prather Coliseum in Natchitoches, Louisiana as members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 9–23, 5–9 in Southland play to finish sixth place. They lost in the first round of the Southland tournament to McNeese State.

DeMarcus Lee Sharp is an American college basketball player for the Northwestern State Demons of the Southland Conference. He previously played for Missouri State, Colby Community College and Moberly Area Community College.
