The Philippine Top 20 is a chart that ranks the best-performing local songs by Filipino artists in the Philippines. Its data are published by Billboard Philippines and compiled by Nielsen Music which are based collectively on each song's weekly online streams and digital sales.

Filipino singer and actor Regine Velasquez has released seventeen studio albums, nine soundtrack albums, one live album, ten compilation albums, six greatest hits albums, five extended plays, seventy-eight singles and sixteen promotional singles. In 1984, she won the television competition Ang Bagong Kampeon and OctoArts International signed her to a record deal. She released her first single "Love Me Again" in 1986, under her nickname Chona Velasquez, which was commercially unsuccessful. After Velasquez signed with VIVA Records in 1987, she released her self-titled debut album, that spawned three singles—"Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang", "Urong Sulong" and "Isang Lahi". In December 1989, she represented the Philippines at the Asia-Pacific Singing Contest performing the songs "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going", which later won her the competition. Filipina singer Nina has released seven studio albums, one live album, three compilation albums, one remix album and forty-three singles. In 2002, Nina released her debut album, Heaven, which became one of the best-selling albums of 2003 in the Philippines, certifying double Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI). The album earned two consecutive number-one singles on the Philippine charts, the first being "Jealous", which peaked at number one for three weeks, and was succeeded by her own rendition of "Foolish Heart".
