He played professionally as an offensive guard with the Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. He played college football at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).

Theodore George Karras Jr. is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for Marian University in Indianapolis, a position he first held from the program's inception in 2007 through the 2012 season and resumed in 2023. Karras was the head football coach at Rose–Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana from 2003 to 2005 and Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio from 2013 to 2016. He led the 2012 Marian Knights football team to the NAIA Football National Championship title.
The Saint Joseph's Hawks are the athletic teams that represent Saint Joseph's University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Hawks compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference and of the Philadelphia Big 5. The school also has intramurals and extramurals, the latter of which compete within the City 6. The school is mostly known for its men's basketball team. The Hawk became the school's mascot in 1929. It first flapped its wings at a basketball game in 1956 in a win over La Salle University. The Saint Joseph's school colors are crimson and gray.

William Kevin Donley is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a position he has held since April 1997. As of January 2024, Donley has completed 45 seasons as a head coach, in addition to the 1997 season which was devoted to establishing the football program at the University of Saint Francis. The Saint Francis Cougars began play the following year.

Kevin Donley has served as head coach since the inception of the program in 1998. Saint Francis plays its home game at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The 2011 NAIA football national championship was played on December 17, 2011, as the 56th Annual Russell Athletic NAIA Football National Championship.
The 2016 Saint Francis Red Flash football team represented Saint Francis University in the 2016 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by seventh-year head coach Chris Villarrial and played their home games at DeGol Field. They were a member of the Northeast Conference. They finished the season 7–5, 5–1 in NEC play to finish in a tie for the conference title with Duquesne. Due to their head-to-head win over Duquesne, they received the NEC's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs where they lost in the first round to Villanova.
Irwin Vincent Davis was an athletic director and head football coach at Saint Francis University, from which he retired in 1979. He was inducted into the Saint Francis University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1996.
The 2016 Saint Francis Cougars football team represented the University of Saint Francis, located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the 2016 NAIA football season. They were led by head coach Kevin Donley, who served his 19th year as the head football coach at Saint Francis. The Cougars played their home games at Bishop John D'Arcy Stadium and were members of the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast League (MEL). The Cougars finished 2nd in the MSFA MEL division and received an at-large bid to the NAIA playoffs.
John James "Speedo" Loughran was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania from 1923 to 1924.
The 2011 Saint Xavier Cougars football team was an American football team that represented Saint Xavier University as a member of the Mideast League of the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) during the 2011 NAIA football season. In their 13th season under head coach Mike Feminis, the Cougars compiled a 14–1 record and won the NAIA national championship, defeating Carroll (Montana), 24–20, in the NAIA National Championship Game.
