Adam Lechtenberg (born 1979/1980) [1] is an American football coach and former player who is currently the head coach for the Central Connecticut Blue Devils of the Northeast Conference (NEC). He played college football at Nebraska and has since coached or served as an administrator with Fowler High School, Wayne State, Truman, TCU, Central Connecticut, Memphis, UT Martin, Virginia Tech and Central Oklahoma.
Lechtenberg grew up in Butte, Nebraska. [2] He attended Butte High School where he played football, basketball and track and field. [3] Lechtenberg played quarterback in football and led his team to an overall record of 35–3 as starter, being a first-team all-state selection. [3] He was named honorable mention all-state in basketball and in track and field was a state medalist. [3] In 1998, he began playing college football at Nebraska, having made the team as a walk-on. [1] Lechtenberg graduated in 2002 with a bachelor of science degree in agribusiness. [1] [4]
Lechtenberg began his coaching career at Fowler High School after graduating from Nebraska, serving as defensive coordinator for at least one season. [5] [6] [7] He worked at a TCU football camp in 2004. [3] In 2005, he began serving as wide receivers coach and graduate assistant [1] for the Wayne State Warriors. [8]
Lechtenberg became the running backs coach and video coordinator for the Truman Bulldogs in 2007, but only served preseason; he became an offensive graduate assistant [2] at TCU during the regular season. [3] He served in that position at TCU through 2009, and received a master's degree from the school. [2] Lechtenberg became the co-offensive coordinator at Central Connecticut in 2010, and served two years in the position, helping the team win the conference championship in his first year. [9] He also coached quarterbacks and served as recruiting coordinator at the school. [6]
After leaving Central Connecticut in 2012, Lechtenberg accepted a position as director of player personnel for the Memphis Tigers. [1] In this role, he was the liaison between the football team and academics, housing and admissions. [10] He served in the position through 2015, and also was the interim wide receivers coach in his final year. [7] He helped them compile a record of 10–3 in 2014, tied for the best in school history, and win the conference championship, their first since 1971. [6] Lechtenberg additionally oversaw the Memphis walk-on program, which helped 11 players win scholarships and 23 make an impact on the team. [10]
Lechtenberg became the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at UT Martin in 2016, and was in that role for one year. [10] He helped them achieve 32.2 points-per-game, which ranked second in the division. [10] In 2017, he was named director of player development at Virginia Tech, and after one season in that position, became the assistant head coach and executive director of player development in 2018. [10] Following the 2019 season, Lechtenberg was promoted to running backs coach, and led the backs to average 5.58 yards-per-carry in 2020, the all-time school record. [2] [5] He added the position of offensive recruiting coordinator in 2021. [5]
In 2022, Lechtenberg became co-offensive coordinator, assistant head coach [11] and quarterbacks coach at Central Oklahoma. [12] After one season there, he was named head coach of the Central Connecticut Blue Devils in January 2023. [9]
Lechtenberg is married and has a daughter. [7] His brother, Brandon, is the head football coach for Millsaps College, a position he has held since 2024. [13]

Albert Michael Groh II is an American former football coach and player. He served as the head football coach at Wake Forest University from 1981 to 1986 and at the University of Virginia from 2001 to 2009, compiling a career college football coaching record of 85–92. Groh was also the head coach for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) for one season, in 2000, tallying a mark of 9–7. He last coached as the defensive coordinator for Georgia Tech in 2012.
Michael Lynn DuBose is an American football coach, most recently serving for Opp High School in Opp, Alabama. His most recent college coaching experience was serving as defensive line coach for the University of Memphis. DuBose came to Memphis from Millsaps College, where he was the Majors' head coach from 2006 to 2009. He resurrected the school's struggling football program by winning outright or sharing a conference title in each of his four seasons there. DuBose is best known for his four-year stint as the head football coach at his alma mater, the University of Alabama, where he led the Crimson Tide to an SEC championship in 1999.
Sonny Jack Cumbie is an American football coach and former quarterback. He is the head football coach at Louisiana Tech University, a position he has held since the 2022 season. Cumbie previously served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas Tech University and was the interim head coach after the departure of Matt Wells in 2021. He also served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas Christian University (TCU). Cumbie played college football at Texas Tech and was the team's starting quarterback during the 2004 season, when he led the nation in passing and total offense and a guided the Red Raiders to win in the 2004 Holiday Bowl, earning MVP honors for the game. Cumbie played professionally in the Arena Football League (AFL), the Indoor Football League (IFL), and briefly in the National Football League (NFL).
Mike O'Cain is a former American college football coach and player. He was formerly the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the East Tennessee State University football team. He was the former offensive coordinator for James Madison and served as quarterbacks coach for the Virginia Tech Hokies football team, a position he had held from the 2006 season until the end of the 2012 season. O'Cain served as the head football coach at North Carolina State University from 1993 to 1999, compiling a record of 41–40. He played football as a quarterback and punter at Clemson University from 1974 to 1976.
Bryan Stinespring is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Roanoke College, a position he has held since 2023. He was the assistant head coach and offensive line coach at the University of Delaware, as well as formerly the run game coordinator and offensive line coach at James Madison University from 2016 to 2017. He was previously the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator for the Virginia Tech Hokies football program. He was a full-time member of head coach Frank Beamer's staff from 1993 to 2015. Throughout his tenure in Blacksburg, Stinespring held a number of other positions including offensive line coach (1993–2005), recruiting coordinator (1994–2001), assistant head coach (2001) and offensive coordinator (2002–2012).
Chris Thomsen is an American college football coach. He is the deputy head coach and tight ends coach for Florida State University, positions he has held since 2020. Thomsen was the head coach of the Wildcats football program at Abilene Christian University (ACU), from 2005 through 2011. Thomsen also served as the interim head football coach at Texas Tech University for one game in 2012, the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas.
Jeff Grimes is an American football coach, and the offensive coordinator for the Wisconsin Badgers. He was previously the offensive coordinator at the University of Kansas (2024), Baylor University and Brigham Young University (BYU), Louisiana State University's (LSU) offensive line coach and run game coordinator, and the offensive line coach at both Virginia Tech (2013) and Auburn University. In addition, he was the assistant head coach, run game coordinator and offensive line coach at the University of Colorado, BYU's offensive line coach, offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Arizona State University (ASU), and offensive line coach at Boise State University (BSU) (2000).
Daniel Patrick Enos is an American football coach and former player who is the quarterbacks coach at Wake Forest University. He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Arkansas and the offensive analyst at the University of Florida. He was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Miami in 2019. Enos served as head football coach at Central Michigan University from 2010 to 2014. He was also running backs coach at Michigan State University, where he played as a quarterback from 1987 to 1990.
The Central Connecticut Blue Devils football program is the intercollegiate football team for Central Connecticut State University located in the U.S. state of Connecticut. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Northeast Conference. Central Connecticut State's first football team was fielded in 1935. The team plays its home games at the 5,500 seat Arute Field in New Britain, Connecticut. The Blue Devils are coached by Adam Lechtenberg.
The Central Connecticut Blue Devils are composed of 16 teams representing Central Connecticut State University in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and track and field. Men's sports include baseball and football. Women's sports include volleyball, lacrosse, swimming & diving, and softball. The Blue Devils compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Northeast Conference.
Justin James Fuente is an American college football coach. He was the head football coach at Virginia Tech from 2016 to 2021. He was the 2016 ACC Coach of the Year. Fuente was the head football coach at the University of Memphis from 2012 to 2015. He was an assistant at Texas Christian University from 2007 to 2011 and previously at Illinois State University from 2001 to 2006. Fuente attended the University of Oklahoma before transferring to Murray State University after his redshirt sophomore season. He played quarterback for both schools. Fuente played a single season with the Oklahoma Wranglers of the Arena Football League.
Trey Haverty is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the safeties coach at Southern Methodist University. He previously served as the defensive coordinator at Lamar University. Haverty played college football as a wide receiver at Texas Tech University.
Peter Rossomando is an American college football coach and former player who is currently the head football coach for Lamar University. He served as the interim head coach at University of North Carolina at Charlotte for the final four games of the 2022 football season. He had been the 49ers' offensive line coach for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He was previously the offensive line coach for Vanderbilt University during the 2020 football season. Rossomando served as the head football coach at the University of New Haven from 2008 to 2013 and Central Connecticut State University from 2014 to 2018. In 2012, he was awarded the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award for NCAA Division II as head coach of the New Haven Chargers.
Chip Long is an American college football coach. He was most recently the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach for the University of Southern Mississippi. He previously served as the offensive coordinator for Tulane University, the University of Notre Dame, the University of Memphis and Georgia Tech.
Rob Likens is an American football coach who is currently the wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator at Southern Methodist University. He is the former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arizona State University.
Robert Alan Phenicie is an American football coach and former player. He is the assistant head football coach and tight ends coach at Montana. Previously, Phenicie was the head coach at Idaho State University. He was named the head coach in March 2017, staying until his firing, following the 2021 season. Phenicie's other coaching stops took him to the University of Memphis, UCLA, Los Angeles Valley College, Cal State Northridge, the University of Montana and UNLV.

He also coached for Lincoln North Star High School, Central City High School, TCU, UT Martin, Incarnate Word, and Central Oklahoma. He played club rugby for Nebraska as a flanker and centre.
