Jeff McInerney (born June 22, 1960) is an American professional football coach and former player who is the current defensive quality control and special teams coordinator for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). He served as head football coach at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) from 2006 to 2013, compiling a record of 48–41.

Coaching career

McInerney is an alumnus of Slippery Rock University. He began his coaching career at his alma mater as an undergraduate in 1981, followed by one season as a graduate assistant coach in 1982. McInerney subsequently served as an assistant coach at Troy University, Georgia Southern University, the University of Tulsa, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Oregon State University, Duke University, the University of Southern California and the University of Rhode Island.

In January 2006, McInerney was named the head coach at Central Connecticut State University located in New Britain, Connecticut, becoming the 12th football coach at the school. He held that position for eight seasons, until his resignation in November 2013. His coaching record at Central Connecticut was 48–41 (.539). [1] He resigned his position at the end of the season, citing a desire to move on to another opportunity, adding "There are things, at 53, that I want to do". [2]

In 2014, McInerney became the defensive line and special teams coach for Henderson State. In 2015 he served as the co-Defensive Coordinator. In 2016, McInerney became a Quality Control assistant for the Indiana Hoosiers.

In 2018, McInerney was named as the defensive line and special teams coach for the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football. [3]

McInerney joined the New York Guardians of the XFL in 2019. [4]

Tim Lewis is an American football coach and former player who is the defensive coordinator for the Arlington Renegades of the XFL. He played college football for the University of Pittsburgh and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL) in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft. Following a neck injury that cut his playing career short after four seasons, Lewis began serving as a coach in the collegiate and professional levels and obtained his first head coaching position with the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) in 2019. He also served as the defensive backs coach for the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL until the league folded in 2020.

Jeff Jagodzinski is an American football coach and former player who is the offensive line coach for the Philadelphia Stars of the United States Football League (USFL). He was previously the offensive coordinator at Georgia State University. Jagodzinski served as he head football coach at the Boston College in 2007 and 2008, leading the Eagles to a record of 20–8 and consecutive appearances in the ACC Championship Game. In 2010, he was the head coach of the United Football League's Omaha Nighthawks.

Charles Evans Bresnahan is an American football coach and former player. He is the Defensive Line and Outside Linebackers coach for the Vegas Vipers. He was the defensive coordinator of the Oakland Raiders on two occasions and the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL) as well as the Florida Tuskers and Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League (UFL). He also served as defensive coordinator in the college ranks at the University of Central Florida, University of South Florida and University of Maine. Bresnahan also served as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts of the NFL and the United States Naval Academy (Navy) and the Georgia Institute of Technology in the college ranks. He won two Super Bowls with the Giants before playing for the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and New York Jets.

James Herrmann is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the defensive coordinator for the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL and was recently the defensive coordinator for the New York Guardians of the XFL. Prior to that, he was linebackers coach for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL) and the Bowling Green Falcons football team. He played college football at the University of Michigan from 1980 to 1982 and served as an assistant football coach at Michigan from 1985 to 2005, including nine years as defensive coordinator from 1997 to 2005.
