This is a list of television channels available in Sindhi language. All of these are stationed in Pakistan, but are available in other countries as well.

History

Time News HD offers high definition, Sindhi content to the World. [1] Television in Pakistan expanded after 2002. [2] Private television channels were allowed during the rule of Pervez Musharraf in 2000. [3] Sindhi media tends to cover topics which may not be covered by Urdu or English media. [Media 1] Pakistan has government owned as well as private media (including print and electronic), [Media 2] which is free and covers happenings in the nation and the rest of the world.

In India, both the Perso-Arabic script and Devanagari are used.

Television in Pakistan started in 1964 and the first live transmission of Pakistan Television began on 26 November 1964, in Lahore.

Sohail Sangi is a senior journalist and activist of the leftist movement in Pakistan, presently working with the daily newspaper Dawn. He has been one of the visiting faculty of the Mass Communication Department at the University of Sindh. Currently he is working as a visiting faculty of the Department of Mass Communication at the Federal Urdu University.

Sindh TV News or Sindh Television News is a Sindhi television channel. It's a news channel which telecast news, news reports and current affair programs. The management of Dolphin Media House announced to launch a news channel and its testing transmission was started in October 2004. The channel did cover historical and archaeological sites of Sindh and other sites in Pakistan, so it was considered as a first documentary TV channel of Pakistan. Notable Sindhi journalists such as Ishaq Manrio, Hassan Dars, Bukhshan Mehranvi and Imdad Soomro did cover the documentary programmes. The owners of the channel are Dr.Karim Rajpar and Ajeet Kumar Ahuja.

Muhammad Ali Kazi also known as Ali Kazi is a Sindhi journalist and news anchor from Pakistan.

Sindhi Cultural Day is a popular Sindhi cultural festival. It is celebrated with traditional enthusiasm to highlight the centuries-old rich culture of Sindh. The day is celebrated each year in the first week of December on the Sunday. It's widely celebrated all over Sindh, and amongst the Sindhi diaspora population around the world. Sindhis celebrate this day to demonstrate the peaceful identity of Sindhi culture and acquire the attention of the world towards their rich heritage.

Abdul Qadir Junejo was a novelist, playwright and columnist who wrote in Sindhi, Urdu and English.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Rashid Sabir</span> Pakistani writer (1945-2012)

Rashid Sabir, 10 January 1945 – 7 December 2012, was a Pakistani teacher, film actor, TV, radio and stage artist. He wrote 300 dramas for Radio Pakistan and dialogues for 12 Sindhi language films. He also acted in a number of TV serials and plays.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Hayat Ali Shah Bukhari</span> Pakistani dramatist and journalist

Syed Hayat Ali Shah Bukhari was a Pakistani radio, TV and film artist, dramatist and film director. He wrote more than 200 serials and plays for radio and TV channels. He also served as a journalist and columnist. He was associated with the Sindhi-language DailyIbrat at the time of his death in 2020.
