The light novel, manga, and anime series The Rising of the Shield Hero features a diverse cast of characters. The visuals of the characters were designed by Minami Seira and their stories were created by Aneko Yusagi.
Samurai Deeper Kyo is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akimine Kamijyo. It was serialized in Kodansha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine from May 1999 to May 2006, with its chapters collected in 38 tankōbon volumes. Set during the Edo period, the series follows Demon Eyes Kyo, a feared samurai seeking to regain his body after his soul is sealed inside the body of his rival, Mibu Kyoshiro. Kyo is joined in his search by the bounty-hunter Shiina Yuya, the heir to the Tokugawa shogunate Benitora; and Sanada Yukimura, a known rival of the Tokugawa. The manga was licensed in North America by Tokyopop and Del Rey Manga.
Futakoi Alternative is a Japanese anime television series created by character designer Mutsumi Sasaki and planner & scenario writer Hina Futaba. The series was produced by MediaWorks, King Records, Lantis and Yomiko Advertising and animated by Feel, Studio Flag and Ufotable. It ran for 13 episodes from 7 April 2005 to 30 June 2005. The show features many of the characters from the original Futakoi, though the story and settings are completely different. A manga adaptation of the show is illustrated by Kanao Araki.
Magical Circle Guru Guru is a Japanese manga by Hiroyuki Etō, which was serialized in Enix's Monthly Shōnen Gangan from 1992 to 2003. It was later adapted into an anime series on October 13, 1994. A second manga series was serialized in Gangan Online in 2012.
Mega Man Star Force, known as Ryūsei no Rockman is an anime and manga series based on the video game of the same name. The series follows the adventures of Geo Stelar and Omega-Xis, a duo capable of merging with each other to become the hero "Mega Man". Rental Magica is a Japanese light novel series by Makoto Sanda, with illustrations by Pako. It was serialized in The Sneaker magazine published by Kadokawa Shoten from August 2004 to March 2013. An anime television series adaptation animated by Zexcs was broadcast in Japan between October 7, 2007, and March 23, 2008, airing a total of twenty-four episodes.
Potemayo (ぽてまよ) is a Japanese four-panel comic strip by Haruka Ogataya. The manga was first serialized in the four-panel manga magazine Moeyon in July 2004. In October 2005, the manga moved to the Japanese seinen manga magazine Comic High! and continued until January 2011. A 12-episode anime adaptation by J.C.Staff aired between July and September 2007 on Tokyo MX.
SD Gundam Gaiden Sieg Zion Hen is a Japanese media project within the SD Gundam franchise produced between 1989 and 1990, centered on Bandai's plamo and Carddass trading cards. The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk and its sequel, The Tower of Druaga: The Sword of Uruk, is a Japanese anime television series, created by Gonzo, and is an animated reboot/continuation of Namco's Babylonian Castle Saga video game franchise which began as an arcade game, The Tower of Druaga, originally released in 1984. This series is amongst the first to be officially broadcast on the internet by Gonzo simultaneously in Japanese and subtitled in English on YouTube, and BOST TV.
Chibi Devi! is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Shinozuka. It was serialized in Shogakukan's shōjo manga magazine Ciao from May 2008 to November 2014, with its chapters collected in eleven tankōbon volumes. It is about a middle school girl who discovers a devil baby on her bed one day. The manga was adapted into a seventy-five episode anime television series by SynergySP which aired in Japan from October 2011 to February 2014.
Chaika: The Coffin Princess is a Japanese light novel series written by Ichirō Sakaki and illustrated by Namaniku ATK. Twelve volumes of the series have been published by Fujimi Shobo under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. It has been adapted into three manga series. An anime adaptation was announced in July 2013 and aired from April 9, 2014, to June 25, 2014. A second season titled Chaika The Coffin Princess: Avenging Battle aired from October 8, 2014, to December 10, 2014.

Originally published as a web novel in the user-generated novel site Shōsetsuka ni Narō, the series has since been published by Media Factory with an expanded story-line featuring illustrations by Seira Minami. As of June 25, 2019, 22 volumes have been published.

An anime television series aired from 5 July 2016 to 20 September 2016 and is licensed by Crunchyroll outside of Japan in the English-speaking regions.
Tomica Bond Combination Earth Granner is a Japanese anime television series produced and animated by OLM, Inc., based on the long running Tomica series of die-cast metal cars created by Takara Tomy and released for the franchise's 50th anniversary. It is directed by Shinji Ushiro and written by Yuka Yamada with character designs done by Yuko Inoue. It began airing on all TXN stations in Japan on April 5, 2020.
Naofumi Iwatani is a fictional character from the light novel The Rising of the Shield Hero written by Aneko Yusagi and illustrated by Seria Minami. Naofumi is a young man summoned into a parallel world along with three other young men to become the world's Cardinal Heroes and fight inter-dimensional hordes of monsters called Waves. Equipped with the Legendary Shield, the character earns the title of "Shield Hero" and goes on a journey with hatred towards society after being falsely accused of sexually assaulting a princess.
