Part of the Lupin III franchise, it is the first anime television adaptation of the Lupin III manga series created by Monkey Punch. The series was originally broadcast as simply Lupin III on Yomiuri TV between October 24, 1971 and March 26, 1972. Hajime Hinata, also known as Izuru Kamukura, is a character from the Spike Chunsoft visual novel action-adventure game series Danganronpa. The character has two identities: Izuru first appeared in the 2011 light novel prequel Danganronpa Zero by Kazutaka Kodaka as a mysterious high school student whose actions resulted in genocide, while a computer avatar copy of Hajime appeared as the protagonist of the 2012 video game Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, as a high school student with no memory of his past, forced to investigate murder cases involving high school students who are trapped on a group of tropical islands. The prequel anime Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School further explores the past of the human Hajime and how he volunteered to undergo experimentation to become the silent apathetic superhuman Izuru.
Blade of the Immortal is a 2017 samurai action film starring Takuya Kimura and Hana Sugisaki and directed by Takashi Miike. It is based on the successful manga series by Hiroaki Samura. The narrative focuses on the immortal samurai Manji (Kimura) who becomes the bodyguard of an orphan teenager named Rin Asano (Sugisaki) as they go on a journey of vengeance against the members of the Ittō-ryū samurai who killed the child's parents.

It was serialized in Kodansha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine from March 2017 to November 2022, with its chapters collected in 31 tankōbon volumes. The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old part-timer with a gloomy life, who learns that his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, has died in a dispute involving the Tokyo Manji Gang. The next day, while returning from his part-time job, Takemichi gets pushed off the subway platform by someone. As he is about to be hit, he jumps twelve years back in time, to the year he was dating Hinata. Discovering this, he makes the decision to do everything to prevent her death.

It is the live-action adaptation of the manga series of the same name created by Ken Wakui, which was also made into an anime series of the same name.The film stars Takumi Kitamura, Yuki Yamada, Yosuke Sugino, Mio Imada, Shotaro Mamiya and Ryo Yoshizawa. It follows a freeter who travels back and forth in time in order to prevent the death of his ex-girlfriend at the hands of a criminal gang.
