The Ambassador of Norway to the United Kingdom is Norway's foremost diplomatic representative in the United Kingdom, and in charge of the Norwegian diplomatic mission in the UK. Norway and the United Kingdom have exchanged diplomats since Norway became independent in 1905, when the polar explorer Fridtjof Nansen was appointed Minister. The Norwegian legation was upgraded to a full embassy during the Second World War when the Norwegian government sat in exile in London. The current Embassy is located in Belgravia in London. [1]

Erik Colban

Erik Andreas Colban was a Norwegian diplomat. Colban had many important roles in Norwegian diplomacy; especially being named to the post of Norwegian Ambassador in London before and during the Second World War. Colban also worked with the League of Nations and the United Nations where Norwegian Trygve Lie served as the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Prince Eugen Medal Award

The Prince Eugen Medal is a medal conferred by the King of Sweden for "outstanding artistic achievement".

The Fridtjof Nansen Prize for Outstanding Research is a Norwegian research award. It is conferred by the Nansen Trust and its associated trusts, and it was established in 1896 after the return of the Fram Expedition.
