Oz is an American drama television series which was produced and broadcast by premium cable network HBO from 1997 to 2003. The series has been successful with many award associations, in particular, the American Latino Media Arts Awards (known as the ALMA Awards), the Casting Society of America's Artios Awards, the CableACE Awards, the Online Film & Television Association Awards and the International Press Academy's Satellite Awards. It has never been the recipient of any major awards, however, it has been nominated two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Casting for a Series, as well as garnering several nominations at the NAACP Image Awards.
Rita Moreno is the most nominated actress of the series, with a total of four wins out of twelve nominations. Other successful recipients include Lauren Vélez, Ernie Hudson, Eamonn Walker and Christopher Meloni.

Oz is an American prison drama television series set at a fictional men's prison created and principally written by Tom Fontana. It was the first one-hour dramatic television series to be produced by the premium cable network HBO. Oz premiered on July 12, 1997, and ran for six seasons. The series finale aired on February 23, 2003.
The Casting Society, formerly known as Casting Society of America (CSA), was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1982 as a professional society of about 1,200 casting directors and associate casting directors for film, television, theatre, and commercials in Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa, and the United States. The nonprofit organization announced the name change from Casting Society of America to Casting Society on February 10, 2022. The society is not to be confused with an industry union. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters represent most of the major casting directors and associate casting directors in Hollywood. Lackawanna Blues is a drama television film directed by George C. Wolfe and written by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. It aired on HBO on February 12, 2005. It is based on the play of the same name by Santiago-Hudson. Wolfe had commissioned the stage version.
