As of 2023 Only 2 canals Niasarm and Farshadi remain in the city of Isfahan. [1] There was an old network of hand dug water channels in the city of Isfahan guiding the river's water. Iranian government has effectively cut off Zayande Rud (Zayendeh River) which is the lifeline of canals. In 2023 some water was for the first time allocated by the government through pumping in order to preserve the madis. The government may deliver water by tank. [2] [3] Total of 308683 meters (310 kilometers) is length of canals in the central city of Isfahan [4]

Gavkhouni also written as Gawkhuni or Batlaq-e-Gavkhuni, located in the Iranian Plateau in central Iran, east of the city of Isfahan, is the terminal basin of the Zayandeh River. Gavkhouni is a salt marsh with a salinity of 31.5% and an average depth of about 1 m. The salt marsh can dry up in summer. The Zayandeh River originates in the Zagros mountains, and travels around 300 km, before terminating in Gavkhouni.
The Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation is an Iranian charitable organization, founded in March 1979 to provide support for poor families. The aim is to help such families regain financial stability. The Iranian identity card is the primary identity document in Iran. Every citizen age of 15 and above, whether resident or not, needs to apply for such a card, which bears their unique national identity number, given name, surname, birth date, and postal code. The current version of this card is called the national smart card and is the successor of the national card. Isfahan Wildlife Park پارک آمورشی حیات وحش also called Soffeh Zoo پارک وحش صفه is a 5000 meters zoo located in Mount Soffeh park, District 5, Isfahan, Iran run by Isfahan Municipality. Around 318 rescue animals and 3 cloned animals from 36 species were held in the facility as of 1399 mostly in 2 meter cell spaces. This zoo has been highly criticized for its animal cruelty conditions. It was closed an repurposed to animal nursing for a full year since Covid in 2020. It was proposed to be closed down and another safari park be developed in East Park of Isfahan so as to earn revenue for the city's tourism It is supervised through department of environment. The zoo doesn't have green space. City council had tried to close it down in 2020.In August 2024 animals in there were passing out due to heat because of poor air ventilation.
