Ernakulam is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala, and takes its name from the eponymous city division in Kochi. Murickassery is a major market and educational centre in the Idukki district of Kerala state, South India. This is a village of migrant farmers and migrants has been developing as an important centre of Idukki. Various spice products provide the life blood for this village and market. Murickassery is situated in Vathikkudy Grama Panchayath.

The Main Central Road popularly known as MC Road is the arterial State Highway starting from Kesavadasapuram in Trivandrum city and ends at Angamaly, a suburb of Kochi city in Ernakulam District, in the state of Kerala, India. It is designated as State Highway 1 by the Kerala Public Works Department. The highway was built by Raja Kesavadas, Dewan of Travancore, in the 1790s. Plan for a new highway called Thiruvananthapuram–Angamaly Greenfield Highway, which runs parallel to the MC Road is proposed and is under early stage of development.

Angamaly Diocese is one of the ancient dioceses of Malankara Orthodox Church in Kerala, India. Angamaly Diocese is one of the 30 dioceses of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church having its see at Kottayam, and covering a wide area including big portions of Ernakulam and Idukki Districts. The Diocese was formed in the historic synod of Mulanthuruthy in 1876.

Thopramkudy is a village in Vathikudy Gram panchayat, in Idukki Taluk located in Idukki district in the State of Kerala in South India. Spread over an area of 27.94 km2 (10.79 sq mi), it is one of the spices market in the state of Kerala. The town has a tropical climate with temperatures ranging from highs of 34.4 °C (93.9 °F) in the summer to a low of 18.5 °C (65.3 °F) in the winter, with a healthy rainfall of 3,040 mm (120 in). Thopramkudy is trying to become a village. State Highway 40 (Kerala) and State Highway 42 (Kerala) and a new highway Kalvary Mount-Munnar is passing through Thopramkudy. Kollappally is a developing town in Kottayam district near Pala Kerala, India. It is located between two major cities of Kerala, Pala and Thodupuzha, on the Main Eastern Highway. It connects Kottayam to two towns in Idukki district - Pynavu, the headquarters of Idukki district and Thodupuzha, the business centre of Idukki district. The next nearest village is Ullanadu. Kollappally is 180 km away from the state capital, Trivandrum. The Lalam river flows through the heart of the town.

Most of the schools and colleges in Pathanamthitta district are in Pandalam Kozhencherry, Thiruvalla, Ranni, Adoor and Pathanamthitta.
