The Rio Branco Institute is Brazil's diplomatic graduate school, internationally recognized as one of the best diplomatic academies in the world. It is the oldest government school in the country and the third oldest diplomatic training institution on the planet, located in Brasília. The institute was created on April 18, 1945, as part of the centennial celebration of the birth of the Baron of Rio Branco, the greatest and most important diplomat in the history of Brazil. The IRBr is run by the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil.

The European Institute of International Relations is an independent research center, providing training and debates on major international issues. It was established in 1997.

Nabil Ayad is an academic in the field of diplomacy and international governance. He is currently a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the Royal Institute of International Affairs and an Associate Member of the London Diplomatic Association.

Haiti was one of the original members of the League of Nations, and was one of the original members of the United Nations and several of its specialized and related agencies. It is also a founding member of the Organization of American States. Haiti also has diplomatic relations with the Republic of China, commonly known as Taiwan, instead of the People's Republic of China. Taiwan is one of Haiti's major trading partners and the two countries maintain very friendly relations. Haiti has also re-established very warm relations with Cuba in which a major act of bilateral cooperation has resulted in Cuba's large contribution of doctors to the country. The Haitian government has publicly shown admiration to Fidel Castro and his administration.

Patrick Reginald Dennis Hayford is a Ghanaian retired diplomat, international affairs director and administrator. Hayford served for 30 years as a diplomat in the Ghana Foreign Service including serving as Ghana's Ambassador to South Africa. He also served as the Director of African Affairs in the Executive Office of United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
