Ajit Singh (Punjabi: ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, pronunciation: [äːd͡ʒiːt sɪ́ŋgᵊ]; 11 February 1687 –23 December 1704), also referred to with honorifics as Sahibzada Ajit Singh or Baba Ajit Singh, was the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh and the son of Mata Sundari. His younger brothers were Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, but they had been born to Mata Jito. He was killed in the Second Battle of Chamkaur along with his brother Jujhar Singh. His other two brothers, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, nine and seven years old, respectively, were bricked alive at Fatehgarh Sahib on order of Wazir Khan, governor of Sirhind-Fategarh.

Mohali district, officially known as Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district or SAS Nagar district, is one of the twenty three districts of Punjab, a state in north-west India. It was formed in April 2006 and is 18th district of Punjab, created next to Pathankot district. This district was carved out of areas falling in Ropar and Patiala District. It is situated next to the union territory of Chandigarh and Panchkula district of Haryana.

Kharar is a town and a municipal council in Mohali district in the state of Punjab, India. It is nearby Mohali city. Kharar is located at 30.74°N 76.65°E and has an average elevation of 309 metres (1,014 feet). The area of Kharar is part of the "Greater Mohali" region.

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) are prestigious centrally funded technical institutes(Research Institutes) in India. The institutes were established by the Government of India through the Ministry of Education to provide collegiate education in basic sciences coupled with research at the undergraduate level. The institutes were formally established by the Parliament of India through the National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research (Amendment) Act, 2010. Seven IISERs have been established across the country, namely IISER Kolkata in West Bengal, IISER Pune in Maharashtra, IISER Mohali in Punjab, IISER Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, IISER Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, IISER Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, and IISER Berhampur in Odisha. All IISERs were declared as Institutes of National Importance by the Parliament of India in 2012, to promote them as leading institutions in the country in the field of basic sciences along with its sister institutes like Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar. The financial outlay for each IISER is around 5 billion (US$63 million) for the first five years of establishment.

Banur is a small town in the Punjab state of India. It is located in the Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district of Punjab. It is about 22 km south of Mohali, 12 kms north of Rajpura and 30 km south west of Chandigarh. It is well connected to its district Mohali and the capital City of Chandigarh. It is located on the Chandigarh-Patiala National Highway.

Paramjit Kaur Landran is a lawyer, member of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for Mohali constituency representing the Shiromani Akali Dal. She was elected to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee House in the elections held on 18 September 2011. She is Former Chairperson of Punjab State Women Commission, Chairperson of Panchayat Mahila Shakti Association, Punjab, A scheme sponsored by Govt. of India, Press and Office Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal. The N-Choe is a seasonal stream that originates in Chandigarh, India and runs across the Leisure Valley to Kajheri, Mohali Punjab, India, and later merges into the Ghaggar River. The stream runs across Leisure Valley and the PCA Cricket Stadium. It is one of the seasonal rivulets in Chandigarh, which include Sukhna Choe in the East and Patiala Ki Rao in the West. The Choe Nala originates at sector 29 in Chandigarh, Punjab.

Sector 70 is a residential and historical sector located in Mohali, Punjab. It is covered with Mattaur, Sector 71, Sohana, Sector 69 and Phase 7, Mohali. There are many parks, around 10, in locality among which famous is Musical Fountain Park for evening stroll and recreation activities. There are many residential complex, apartments and societies.

SAS Nagar Mohali railway station is the main railway station in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district in Punjab. It serves Mohali, the city adjacent to Chandigarh of the Indian state of Punjab.

New Chandigarh is a new planned smart city near Mullanpur in the Mohali district in Punjab, India. It has been designed as an extension of the city of Chandigarh. It is developed by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority. A digital land survey was started by using a drone on 26 April 2018 and was completed on 24 June 2018. Initial Master of city is divided in sectors numbering 1 to 21.
