This is a list of administrators and Governors of Oyo State, Nigeria. Oyo State was formed in 1976 when Western State was divided into Ogun, Ondo, and Oyo states.

Osun State State of Nigeria

Osun State, occasionally known as the State of Osun by the state government, is a state in southwestern Nigeria; bounded to the east by Ekiti and Ondo states, to the north by Kwara State, to the south by Ogun State and to the west by Oyo State. Abdulkareem Adisa was a Nigerian major general who was military governor of Oyo State during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. He was convicted for involvement in an attempted coup against military head of state General Sani Abacha in 1997, and was on death row when Abacha died in June 1998. He was subsequently pardoned.

David Medayese Jemibewon is a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as military governor of the now defunct Western State during the military regime of General Murtala Muhammed, governor of Oyo State after it had been created from part of the old Western State during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo, and later as Minister of Police Affairs in the cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo after the return to democracy. He was a contender for the Kogi West Senatorial District in Kogi State.

Kolapo Ishola Nigerian politician

Chief Kolapo Olawuyi Ishola was a Nigerian politician who was elected on the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform as Governor of Oyo State, Nigeria, holding office between January 1992 and November 1993 during the Nigerian Third Republic.

Prince Amen Edore Oyakhire was the Military Administrator of Taraba State, Nigeria between August 1996 and August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha. He was then administrator of Oyo State during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, handing over to the elected civilian governor Lam Onaolapo Adesina in May 1999 at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic.

Lamidi Ona-Olapo Adesina was an educator who became governor of Oyo State in Nigeria on 29 May 1999 during the 1999 Oyo State gubernatorial election as a member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) party.

Alayeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade, or Sijuade, was the fiftieth traditional ruler or Ooni of Ife from 1980 to his death in 2015, taking the regnal name Olubuse II. Ife is a traditional Yoruba state based in the town of Ife in Osun State, Nigeria. Abiola Ajimobi Nigerian politician (1949–2020)

Senator Isiaka Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi was a Nigerian politician from Oyo State, south-western Nigeria. He was formerly the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum, Nigeria. He left the oil sector in 2002 after 26 years of meritorious service and was elected in 2003 as a Senator of the Republic of Nigeria representing Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD). After one term in the senate, he contested in 2007 for the governorship seat of Oyo state under the banner of the All Nigeria People's Party, a bid which he lost. He contested again in the April 2011 gubernatorial elections under the Action Congress of Nigeria and was elected Governor of Oyo State in a closely contested vote. In 2019, he was succeeded by Oluwaseyi Makinde. He contested for Senator for his senatorial district but lost. In June 2020, he was confirmed to have COVID-19 and was announced dead on the 25th of June.

The 2015 Oyo State gubernatorial election occurred in Nigeria on April 11, 2015. APC candidate Abiola Ajimobi won the re-election after defeating Rasheed Ladoja of Accord.

The 2011 Oyo State gubernatorial election was the 7th gubernatorial election of Oyo State. Held on April 26, 2011, the Action Congress of Nigeria nominee Abiola Ajimobi won the election, defeating Christopher Alao-Akala of the People's Democratic Party.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Oyo State held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Oyo State. Abdulfatai Buharirepresenting Oyo North and Teslim Folarin representing Oyo Central won on the platform of All Progressives Congress while Kola Balogun representing Oyo South won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party.
