List of governors of Papua

Governor of Papua is the regional head who holds the provincial government in Papua together with the Deputy Governor of Papua. The Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua are elected through general elections which are held every 5 years. The current governor of Papua is Ridwan Rumasukun.

The following is a list of the governors of Papua, including when they were still called West Irian and Irian Jaya.

Apolo Safanpo is an Indonesian academician and bureaucrat who is serving as the governor of South Papua in an acting capacity since 11 November 2022. He also held office in the Ministry of Home Affairs as the minister's expert staff for governance since 9 November 2022. Before working in the bureaucracy, Apolo was an academician in the Cenderawasih University, with his highest office being the university's rector from 2017 until 2022.

Muhammad Abud Musa'ad is an Indonesian academic and bureaucrat who is serving as the Acting Governor of Southwest Papua since 9 December 2022. He also held office in the Ministry of Investment as the minister's expert staff for competitiveness improvement. Musaad was previously head of Papua's Regional Development Planning Agency from 2014 until 2019 and Second Assistant to the Papuan Regional Secretary from 2020 until 2022. He was also a lecturer in the Cenderawasih University, with his last position in the university being the head of the university's democratic center.

drh. Constant Karma is an Indonesian politician and bureaucrat from Papua. He held the position of acting governor of Papua during the transitional period of 2012–2013 and was also deputy governor of Papua from 2000 to 2005.
