The Bangladesh Bank is the central bank of Bangladesh. Its governor is the chief executive officer of the organization. The 13th and most recent governor is Ahsan H. Mansur. [1] [2]

Ahsan Habib was a Bangladeshi poet and literary figure in Bengali culture. He was born in the village of Shankarpasha, in Pirojpur. Before the India-Pakistan partition, he worked on several literary magazines: Takbir, Bulbul (1937–38) and The Saogat (1939-43) and he was a staff artiste at the Kolkata Centre of All India Radio. After partition he came to Dhaka and worked on Daily Azad, Monthly Mohammadi, Daily Krishak, Daily Ittehad, Weekly Prabaha, etc.

Muhammad Mansur Ali was a Bangladeshi politician who was a close confidant of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding leader of Bangladesh. A senior leader of the Awami League, Mansur also served briefly as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in 1975 until he was assassinated while incarcerated on 3 November 1975.

Nawab Bahadur Sir Khwaja Ahsanullah KCIE was the third Nawab of Dhaka. He was notable for his philanthropic works in Bengal, most notably his donations to the present Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He also authored books in Persian and Urdu under the pen name of Shaheen. The palace Ahsan Manzil is named after him by his father Khwaja Abdul Ghani.

Kamrul Ahsan, a career foreign service officer, served as Bangladesh Ambassador to the Russian Federation from January 2020 to September 2024. During his tenure in Moscow, he was also concurrently accredited as his country's Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan. Before joining in his position in Moscow, he served as Secretary for Bilateral and Consular Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Bank on September 1, 2024, dissolved the board of First Security Islami Bank PLC, which was under the control of controversial S Alam Group, and appointed independent directors to the bank board.

Ahsan H. Mansur is a Bangladeshi economist and the 13th governor of Bangladesh Bank. He was the director of Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh. He was also the chairman of BRAC Bank and an independent director of Walton.

Nurun Nahar is a banker. She was the acting governor of Bangladesh Bank since Abdur Rouf Talukder resigned from the position. She is replaced by Ahsan H. Mansur. Before that she was the deputy governor of the bank.

Policy Research Institute is a think tank based in Banani, Dhaka, that conducts policy-based economics research.

Qazi Baharul Islam is a Bangladeshi academic and former chairman of Sonali Bank, the largest bank in the country. He was the chairman during the Hallmark-Sonali Bank Loan Scam.
