Additionally, journalist Alí Domínguez was murdered in 2019. The Venezuelan police believe his murder was politically motivated. [2]

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) is an American independent non-profit, non-governmental organization, based in New York City, with correspondents around the world. CPJ promotes press freedom and defends the rights of journalists. The American Journalism Review has called the organization, "Journalism's Red Cross." Since late 1980s, the organization has been publishing an annual census of journalists killed or imprisoned in relation to their work.
The CPJ International Press Freedom Awards honor journalists or their publications around the world who show courage in defending press freedom despite facing attacks, threats, or imprisonment. Established in 1991, the awards are administered by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), an independent, non-governmental organization based in New York City. In addition to recognizing individuals, the organization seeks to focus local and international media coverage on countries where violations of press freedom are particularly serious.
Wilfred Iván Ojeda Peralta was a Venezuelan journalist and opposition politician. Ojeda wrote a column for El Clarín in La Victoria, Aragua, Venezuela. He regularly challenged the government through his column. He was murdered and his body was found on 17 May 2011.
Razzaq Gul was a senior Pakistani journalist covering war and politics for Express News in Turbat, Pakistan who was abducted 18 May 2012 and found murdered 19 May 2012. According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, Razzaq Gul was a member of the Baloch National Movement and secretary of the Press Club of Turbat. Gul was a member of the Baluch National Movement, a nationalist political organization, and was the secretary of the Press Club of Turbat, according to news reports. His colleagues at the club told Express News TV that Gul had not mentioned receiving any threats. No group claimed responsibility for his death.
Regina Martínez Pérez was a Mexican journalist and veteran crime reporter for Proceso, a center-left Mexican news magazine known for its critical reporting of the social and political establishment.
Hindia Haji Mohamed,, a Somali broadcast radio and TV journalist and producer for Radio Mogadishu and Somali National Television in Mogadishu, Somalia, was one of the many journalists killed during the Somali Civil War. She and her husband Liban Ali Nur were both among the assassinated journalists making them among the few married couples worldwide killed.
Carlos Domínguez Rodríguez, a Mexican journalist and political columnist in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, was best known for his column in the Diario de Nuevo Laredo, as well his opinion columns for news websites, before he was murdered.
