The firm was formed in 2010 by the merger of the American law firm Hogan & Hartson and the British law firm Lovells. Gowling WLG is a multinational law firm formed by the combination of Canada-based Gowlings and UK-based Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co in February 2016.
