Urban Tibamanya is a Ugandan lawyer and politician. He was the State Minister for Urban Development in the Ugandan Cabinet from 2006 until 2011. Although the cabinet reshuffle of 2009 did not affect his cabinet post, the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011 caused him to be replaced by Justine Lumumba Kasule. He also served as the elected Member of Parliament for Kashari County, Mbarara District, from 2006 until 2011. During the 2011 national election cycle, he lost to Wilberforce Rutashokwa Yaguma in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) political party primaries. He then ran as an Independent candidate, but still lost to Yaguma, who is the current incumbent MP for that constituency.

Adolf Kasaija Mwesige is a Ugandan lawyer and politician who served as Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda from 6 June 2016 to 8 June 2021. He previously served as Minister of Local Government from 18 February 2009 to 6 June 2016. He has also been the elected Member of Parliament for Bunyangabu County, Kabarole District, since 1996. In July 2017, Bunyangabu County was peeled off Kabarole District to form Bunyangabu District.

Kampala Associated Advocates (KAA) is an international law firm based in Uganda with a presence in the countries of the African Great Lakes. KTA Advocates(Formerly Karuhanga, Tabaro & Associates) is a Ugandan law firm headquartered in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. It is a private legal practice firm founded in 2009.

S&L Advocates is a Ugandan law firm headquartered in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. It is a leading business law firm that was founded in 1980 by Paulo Sebalu and Godfrey Serunkuma Lule. The firm is a member of DLA Piper and the DLA Piper Africa Group. The firm's advocates are members of various professional bodies, including the International Bar Association, the Commonwealth Lawyers Association, the East African Law Society and the Uganda Law Society.

Kateera & Kagumire Advocates simply known as Kateera & Kagumire and formerly known as Hunter & Greig is a Ugandan law firm headquartered in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda and with a history dating back to 1903. It is one of the oldest and leading law firms in the country.

Kasirye Byaruhanga & Co Advocates is a Ugandan law firm headquartered in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. It is a business law firm that was founded in 1991 by Andrew Kasirye and William Byaruhanga. The firm is part of Mackrell International, a global law firm network, and is active in litigation, with a substantial part of its practice also dedicated to transactional matters and retainer clients. The firm's advocates are members of various professional bodies, including the International Bar Association, the East African Law Society and the Uganda Law Society.

Harriet Magala is a Ugandan lawyer and Court-Approved Legal Mediator in the Judiciary of Uganda. She also concurrently serves as a partner in the law firm of Kituuma-Magala & Company Advocates, a business that she co-owns with her father, Grace Kituuma Magala, also a lawyer.

Stella Nansikombi Mukasa Makubuya, , was a Ugandan human-rights lawyer, and women's rights activist who served as the Regional Director for Africa at the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW).

Godfrey Serunkuma Lule is a Ugandan lawyer. He was Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of Uganda for Idi Amin and defected, becoming a prominent international critic of Amin. He went on to found the prominent Ugandan Law and Consulting firm Sebalu & Lule Advocates and Legal Consultants.

In a 2012 IFLR article, Zain Latif, the principal of pioneer markets investor TLG Capital, singles out Uganda as a country where international private equity investment prospects look good, out of subsahara African countries. There are significant issues in legal and business frameworks in the region, he notes.

Peter James Nkambo Mugerwa was a prominent Ugandan lawyer. He served as Uganda's Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs under President Idi Amin from 1971 to 1973.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Shamim Malende</span> Ugandan lawyer and politician

Shamim Malende, is a Ugandan lawyer, a commissioner for oaths, a notary public, politician and community activist. She is a member of the People Power, Our Power Movement and of the National Unity Platform (NUP) political party. She is the only woman on the legal team of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu. In the 2021 general election she was elected to Parliament as the Women's Representative for Kampala District for the 2021-2026 term.

Flavian Zeija is a Ugandan lawyer, academic and judge, on the High Court of Uganda, who doubles as the country's Principal Judge, effective 25 December 2019. In Uganda, a Principal Judge is responsible for supervising the justices of the High Court, including the assignment of duties to members of the Court. The Principal Judge is also responsible for supervising the Magistrates Courts below the High Court.

Isaac Ssemakadde is a human rights defender in Uganda, born on 15 September 1984. He is a Lawyer by profession. He describes himself as an anticlockwise thinker and legal rebel. He was elected as the President of the Uganda Law Society on September 28, 2024 at the Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo. He was once described as the most outstanding Public Interest litigation lawyer in Uganda by the Uganda Law Society. He pursues values like freedom, unity, equality, democracy, human rights, rule of law, fairness, justice and progress.
