Clifton Beverly Briley was an American attorney and politician, the first mayor of the newly consolidated metropolitan government of Nashville and Davidson County in Tennessee. Elected to the mayor's position in 1962 as a Democrat, Briley served three terms from 1963 to 1975; he was prevented by term limits from running again. He had previously served as county judge of Davidson County for several terms, from 1950 to 1963.

Lili Bosse is an American politician, philanthropist, and current Mayor of Beverly Hills, California. The daughter of Holocaust survivors, she has supported many Jewish causes in the United States and Israel. She served as the Mayor of Beverly Hills, California, in its centennial year, from March 2014 to March 2015, as well as from March 2017 to March 2018. In her first term, she led a weekly "Walk With the Mayor" for residents, supported the boycott of the Beverly Hills Hotel owned by the Sultan of Brunei, and promoted trade with China for the luxury industry. In her second term, she spearheaded Beverly Hills Open Late to allow stores on Rodeo Drive to stay open late in the evening.

Beverly Joy O'Neill is an American politician. She served as mayor of Long Beach, California from 1994 to 2006. She is the only three-term citywide elected mayor of Long Beach.

The 1944 Massachusetts gubernatorial election was held on November 7, 1944. Democrat Maurice J. Tobin defeated Republican Horace T. Cahill, Socialist Labor candidate Henning A. Blomen, and Prohibition candidate Guy S. Williams. Incumbent governor Leverett Saltonstall did not run for reelection. In the race for lieutenant governor, Republican Robert F. Bradford defeated Democrat John B. Carr, Socialist Labor candidate George L. McGlynn, and Prohibition candidate Alfred Erickson.

Long Beach, California, held an election for mayor on April 9, 2002 and June 4, 2002. It saw the reelection of Beverly O'Neill to an unprecedented third term. O'Neill had to run as a write-in, as she was otherwise term limited. In the runoff she faced city councilman Dan Baker and write-in Norm Ryan.
