Ariguaní is a municipality of the Colombian Department of Magdalena. The municipality seat is the town of El Difícil. It is bordered by the municipalities of Nueva Granada, Sabanas de San Ángel, Pijiño and the Municipality of Bosconia. According to the last national census (2005), the population is 31,047 Ariguaní inhabitants, of whom 18,313 live in the urban center, and the remaining 12,734 live in rural areas.

Ariguaní River is a river in northern Colombia's Caribbean Region born in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range in the area of the municipality of Pueblo Bello. The Ariguaní is an affluent of the Cesar River and flows from north to south into it near the town of El Paso. The Ariguaní River is also a natural and political border between the Cesar and Magdalena Departments.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">La Quinta Formation</span> Geologic formation in South America

The La Quinta Formation is a Jurassic geologic formation which crops out in the Cordillera de Mérida and Serranía del Perijá of western Venezuela and northeastern Colombia. The formation is also present in the subsurface of the Cesar-Ranchería and Maracaibo Basins. At its type locality near La Grita, Táchira, it consists of a basal dacitic tuff followed by interlayered sandstones, tuffs, siltstones and rare limestones. Dinosaur remains including Laquintasaura, Tachiraptor, and Perijasaurus are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation.
