Tallinn is the capital and most populous city of Estonia. Situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, Tallinn has a population of about 461,000 and administratively lies in the Harju maakond (county). Tallinn is the main governmental, financial, industrial, and cultural centre of Estonia. It is located 187 km (116 mi) northwest of the country's second largest city, Tartu; however, only 80 km (50 mi) south of Helsinki, Finland, also 320 km (200 mi) west of Saint Petersburg, Russia, 300 km (190 mi) north of Riga, Latvia, and 380 km (240 mi) east of Stockholm, Sweden. From the 13th century until the first half of the 20th century, Tallinn was known in most of the world by variants of its other historical name Reval.
Tallinn Airport or Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport is the largest airport in Estonia, which serves as the secondary hub for AirBaltic and the cargo airline Airest. It was also the home base of the now defunct national airline Estonian Air. Tallinn Airport is open to both domestic and international flights. It is located 2.7 nautical miles southeast of the centre of Tallinn on the eastern shore of Lake Ülemiste. It was formerly known as Ülemiste Airport.

Edgar Savisaar was an Estonian politician, one of the founding members of Popular Front of Estonia and the Centre Party. He served as the acting Prime Minister of Estonia, Minister of the Interior, Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, and twice mayor of Tallinn.
Established in 1918, Tallinn University of Technology is the only technical university in Estonia. TalTech, in the capital city of Tallinn, is a university for engineering, business, public administration and maritime affairs. TalTech has colleges in Tartu and Kohtla-Järve. Despite the similar names, Tallinn University and Tallinn University of Technology are separate institutions.

During World War II, the Estonian capital Tallinn suffered from many instances of aerial bombing by the Soviet air force and the German Luftwaffe. The first bombings by Luftwaffe occurred during the Summer War of 1941 as part of Operation Barbarossa. A number of Soviet bombing missions to then German-occupied Tallinn followed in 1942–1944.

Vilja Toomast is an Estonian politician, a former Member of the European Parliament. She previously belonged to the Estonian Centre Party which she decided to leave on 9 April 2012.
Viimsi is a small borough in Harju County, Estonia, about 9 km (6 mi) northeast of the centre of Tallinn, just north of Tallinn's subdistrict Merivälja. Viimsi is the administrative centre of Viimsi Parish. As of the 2011 census, its population was 2,341.
Aleksejs Saramotins is a Latvian professional road cyclist, who last rode for UCI Continental team Interpro Cycling Academy. He has won the Latvian National Road Race Championships on seven occasions and has represented his country at the Summer Olympic Games and the UCI Road World Championships.

Kahala is a village in Kuusalu Parish, Harju County in northern Estonia The village covers an area of 18.3 km². In 2020, the village had fewer than 100 residents. The village leader is Veiko Kurg.
Taavi Aas is an Estonian politician who served as Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure from 2019 to 2022 and as Mayor of Tallinn from 2017 to 2019. Before that, he served as the Acting Mayor of Tallinn since 30 September 2015 and Vice Mayor of Tallinn from April 2005. Aas has been the Chairman of Estonian Union of the Cities since 2010.
Erhard Arnold Julius Dehio was a Baltic German merchant and politician who was the lord mayor of Tallinn from March 1918 to 13 November 1918, with Alexander Riesenkampff as second mayor. A notable grain exporter, he traded throughout Europe in the late 19th century. First a city councilor, he was the lord mayor of Tallinn during the German occupation of Estonia during World War I, when the German Empire occupied most of newly independent Estonia, including Tallinn. After the occupation ended and Estonia became an independent republic, Dehio resigned as mayor and left for Germany, eventually setting up his headquarters in Lübeck. He was succeeded by Aleksander Pallas. He would be the last Baltic German mayor of Tallinn. He died in 1940 in Bad Oeynhausen.
Mihhail Kõlvart is an Estonian politician currently serving as the leader of the Centre Party since 2023. He served as the mayor of Tallinn, Estonia, a position he has held since April 2019, after the resignation of Taavi Aas, until the vote of no confidence in him held on 26 March 2024.
Max Kaur is an Estonian politician. He is a member of the Centre Party. He was mayor of Mustvee 2013–2017. Since 2018 he is a Jõhvi municipality vice-governor. Since 2019 he is a Mayor of Jõhvi.
