This is a list of mayors of Welland, Ontario , from its incorporation in 1858 to the present day.

To date, three former mayors of the city have gone on to represent the city at the provincial or federal levels. Marshall Vaughan and Cindy Forster have represented the city as MPPs in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, and Allan Pietz has represented the city as an MP in the House of Commons of Canada.

York, Toronto Place in Ontario, Canada

York is a former city within the current city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located northwest of Old Toronto, southwest of North York and east of Etobicoke, where it is bounded by the Humber River. As a separate city, it was one of six municipalities that amalgamated in 1998 to form the current city of Toronto. The City of York was created by the amalgamation of several villages, including the present-day neighbourhoods of Lambton Mills and Weston.

Weston is a neighbourhood and former village in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood is situated in the northwest of the city, south of Highway 401, east of the Humber River, north of Eglinton Avenue, and west of Jane Street. Weston Road just north of Lawrence Avenue is the commercial core of Weston, with many small businesses and services. Weston was incorporated as a village in the 19th century and was absorbed into the Borough of York in the late 1960s. York itself was amalgamated into Toronto in 1998.

Peter Kormos Canadian politician

Peter Kormos was a politician in Welland, Ontario, Canada. A lawyer by profession, he was first elected as an Ontario New Democratic Party (ONDP) Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the Welland constituency in a 1988 provincial by-election. He replaced veteran NDP legislator Mel Swart. Kormos was re-elected in every subsequent Ontario general election until his retirement from provincial politics in 2011.

Alan Tonks is a former Canadian politician. He was the Liberal MP for the federal riding of York South—Weston in Toronto from 2000 to 2011, and was the final Metro Toronto Chairman before the amalgamation of Metro Toronto into the new City of Toronto.

Raymond Louis Haggerty was a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1967 to 1990 who represented the ridings of Welland South, Erie and Niagara South. He was also involved in municipal politics in the Welland area from 1956 to 1967.

Melvin Leroy Swart was a Canadian politician in Ontario. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a New Democratic MPP from 1975 to 1988.

Peter Partington is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1985 to 1987 who represented the Niagara region riding Brock. He later served as chair of the Niagara Regional Council from 2003 to 2010.

Adam Vaughan Canadian politician

Adam G. Vaughan is a Canadian politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 2014 until 2021. Vaughan represented the Toronto area riding of Spadina—Fort York as a member of the Liberal Party. He previously sat on Toronto City Council, representing Ward 20 Trinity—Spadina from 2006 until he resigned in 2014 to run in a federal by-election for Trinity—Spadina.

Allan Ernest Pietz was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was a businessman and dairy operator by career. He held a series of elected municipal offices in the former Crowland Township before he was elected mayor of Welland in 1965. He held office until 1978, when he did not run for re-election for mayor. He was succeeded by Eugene Stranges. In 1981, he was elected as a Niagara Regional Councillor from Welland. While holding office, he was the morning radio farm reporter for the local radio station CHOW-AM.

Marshall Vaughan was an Ontario merchant and political figure. He represented Welland in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1923 to 1934 as a Conservative member.

Municipal elections were held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on December 7, 1953. Incumbent mayor Allan Lamport won an unexpectedly close race against school board chairman Arthur J. Brown. This election was the first for councils in the municipality of Metropolitan Toronto which would be created on January 1, 1954 and was composed of 14 municipalities: the City of Toronto, the towns of New Toronto, Mimico, Weston and Leaside; the villages of Long Branch, Swansea and Forest Hill, and the townships of Etobicoke, York, North York, East York, and Scarborough.

Municipal elections were held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on December 1, 1952. Incumbent mayor Allan Lamport easily won against former alderman Nathan Phillips.

Cindy Forster is a politician in Ontario, Canada. She was a New Democratic member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario who represented the riding of Welland as an MPP from 2011 until 2018.

Charles Fletcher Swayze was a Canadian politician. He represented Niagara Falls in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1919 to 1923 as a member of the Labour Party, and subsequently served as mayor of Niagara Falls from 1929 to 1934. He died in 1954.

Jeff Burch Canadian politician

Jeff Burch is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2018 provincial election. He represents the electoral district of Niagara Centre as a member of the Ontario New Democratic Party.
