The Dance Club Songs chart is a weekly chart published exclusively by Billboard in the United States. It is a national survey of the songs which are the most popular in nightclubs across the country and is compiled from reports from a national sample of disc jockeys. It was launched as the Disco Action Top 30 chart on August 28, 1976, and became the first chart by Billboard to document the popularity of dance music. Since its inception, several artists have set various records and garnered multiple achievements. In January 2017, Billboard proclaimed Madonna as the most successful artist in the history of the chart, ranking her first in their list of the 100 top all time dance artists and Janet Jackson being the second most successful dance club artist of all-time; Madonna also holds the record for the most number-one songs, with 47. Katy Perry holds the record for having eighteen consecutive number-one songs. Perry's third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), became the first album in the history of the chart to produce at least seven number-one songs between 2010–12, a record it held solely until Rihanna's eighth studio album Anti produced eight chart toppers through 2016-17. Rihanna is the only artist to have achieved five number-one songs in a calendar year.

Ryan Gary Raddon, better known by his stage name Kaskade, is an American DJ, record producer and remixer. DJ Times voted Kaskade "America's Best DJ" in 2011 and 2013". DJ Mag named Kaskade fifty-first on its 2009 list of Top 100 DJs.
"Pose" is the first single by Puerto Rico reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee from the movie soundtrack to the motion picture Talento de Barrio, and was released on May 14, 2008, by Machete Music and El Cartel Records. The single was made available through online music stores on August 12, 2008. The song features different musical styles, ones that differ from Daddy Yankee's past singles. It is an electro song, which fuses other genres such as latin pop, dance-pop, pop rap, dance, hip hop and pop, as well as Latin and dance rhythms.

The song was awarded "Pop Song of the Year" at the Lo Nuestro Awards award, and the Music Video also was nominated for Video of the Year the previous year. The track was written by Chein García Alonso, and became another successful release for Iglesias. The song includes a gospel arrangement on the choruses. An Italian version was also released on the Italian pressings of the album Enrique Iglesias. The track debuted in the United States Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart at number 33 on 10 February 1996, while his previous single was at number 4 on the same chart. The track peaked at number 1, for three weeks on 20 April 1996. The single spent five weeks in Billboard's top 20 Mexican Regional Songs, peaking at number 2.
"Forever" is a song by American recording artist Chris Brown from Exclusive: Forever Edition, a repackaged edition of his second studio album Exclusive. Brown co-wrote the song with Andre Merritt, Rob Allen, Brian Kennedy, and Jamal "Polow da Don" Jones; the latter two are also the producers. Initially created to be used for Ableton Live practice, "Forever" was selected to be released as the first single from Brown's repackaged second studio album but overall it's the fifth single from the album. It was first released for digital download on November 2, 2007. The song's musical structure differs from Brown's previous work, opting for a more Electronic sound reminiscent of Timbaland.
"Rakata" is the first single performed by Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. It was released on January 27, 2005 by Machete Music. The song is a single from the Luny Tunes produced compilation Mas Flow 2, and was later included on Wisin & Yandel's fifth studio album Pa'l Mundo. The song was produced by Luny Tunes and Nely "El Arma Secreta". It is known to be one of their signature songs, as well as being their first major-charting single. Since the single's release, it has become one of the top-selling singles of 2005 and 2006 during the mainstream success years of reggaeton music. It was nominated for "Best Latin/Reggaetón Track" at the 22nd Annual International Dance Music Awards in 2007, which was ultimately won by Shakira and Wyclef Jean for their number one single "Hips Don't Lie".

It was released on July 29, 2016, through Disruptor Records and Columbia Records. The song was written by Taggart, Halsey, Shaun Frank, Freddy Kennett, Isaac Slade and Joe King, while the production was handled by The Chainsmokers. Musically, it is a future bass and pop song with a "retro" style synthesizer in the chorus.
