This is a list of the Austrian number-one singles and albums of 2016 as compiled by Ö3 Austria Top 40, the official chart provider of Austria. [1]
Ö3 Austria Top 40 is the official Austrian singles chart, as well as the radio show which presents it, aired Fridays on Hitradio Ö3. The show presents the Austrian singles, ringtones and downloads chart. It premiered on 26 November 1968 as Disc Parade and was presented by Ernst Grissemann. The show has had other names and other presenters, as detailed below.

Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch was an American hip-hop group led by Mark Wahlberg. The Funky Bunch consisted of Wahlberg, Scott Ross, Hector Barros, Terry Yancey, Raul Pedregon and Anthony Thomas .The group's best known song is "Good Vibrations", which made it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1991.
"Lady Marmalade" is a song written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan. The song is famous for its sexually suggestive chorus of "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ?", which translates into English as "Do you want to go to bed with me (tonight)?". The song first became a popular hit when it was recorded in 1974 by the American girl group Labelle. Labelle held the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for one week, and also topped the Canadian RPM national singles chart.
"Angel" is a song by Jamaican reggae artist Shaggy featuring Rayvon. It was the follow-up to Shaggy's international number-one hit "It Wasn't Me", released in late 2000. "Angel" proved to be almost as successful, reaching number one in many countries, including Australia, Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
American singer and songwriter Pink has released seven studio albums, three live albums, five compilation albums, 36 singles, and 33 music videos. In 2000, she released her debut studio album, Can't Take Me Home. It has sold four million units worldwide and yielded three singles, "There You Go", "Most Girls", and "You Make Me Sick". A year later, Pink recorded the Moulin Rouge! version of "Lady Marmalade" with Christina Aguilera, Mýa, and Lil' Kim. Later that year, Pink released her second studio album, Missundaztood, which has sold 15 million copies worldwide. The record was promoted by four singles, "Get the Party Started", "Don't Let Me Get Me", "Just Like a Pill", and "Family Portrait", all of which attended commercial success.
American singer-actress Cher has released numerous music video titles since 1989 on VHS, Laserdisc, VCD and DVD. These listings include the official international videography, some titles and formats were only released in certain countries such as North America or the UK. Cher has also appeared on DVD releases for VH1 Divas live concerts Divas Live '99, Divas 2002.
"Patience" is a song by British boy band Take That. It was released on 13 November 2006 as the first single from their comeback album, Beautiful World. The single peaked at the top of the UK Singles Chart, and also topped the charts in Germany, Spain and Switzerland, as well as peaking in the top ten of the charts in Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Austria and Sweden.
American singer and songwriter Norah Jones has released seven solo studio albums, 23 singles, and three live DVDs on Blue Note Records. Her most recent studio album, Begin Again, was released on April 12, 2019, through Blue Note Records.
Geronimo's Cadillac is Modern Talking's first single released from the fourth album In the Middle of Nowhere. This single is also the first one not to reach the top of the German singles chart. "Geronimo's Cadillac" was released in Germany and in other European territories on 6 October 1986. The single peaked at No. 3 on the German single chart on 3 November 1986, almost a month after its release. The single spent five weeks within the top-10 and total of 13 weeks on the top-100 in Germany. While "Geronimo's Cadillac" also entered the top-5 in Austria, it managed to enter the top-10 in Switzerland, Sweden and Norway.
"I Like It Loud" is a single by Marc Acardipane Presents Marshall Masters Feat. The Ultimate MC which was released in the year 1997.
Jet Airliner is Modern Talking's first single from the fifth album Romantic Warriors. The single was released in Germany and in other European territories on May 18, 1987. "Jet Airliner" peaked at No. 7 in Germany on June 22, 1987, over one month after its release and spent four weeks within the top-10 and total of 11 weeks on the single chart. While the single managed to enter the top-10 in Austria, it entered the top-20 in Switzerland and Sweden, meanwhile charting moderately in the Netherlands where it peaked at No.33.
"Dedication to My Ex " is a song by R&B recording artist Lloyd, released on August 9, 2011 as the third single from his fourth studio album, King of Hearts (2011). The song, produced by Polow da Don and D. Smith from Zone 4 productions, features a verse from André 3000 of OutKast and is "narrated" by Lloyd's frequent collaborator and fellow New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne. The brass instrumentation was performed by Siraaj Amnesia James. The song was edited for radio in the United Kingdom, replacing the word "pussy" with "lovin'". The single performed average domestically, but reached the top 5 in the UK, Australia, and Ireland, also reaching the top 10 in Denmark, Netherlands and Austria. The song is Lloyd's biggest hit internationally to date.
"Euphoria" is a song performed by Swedish recording artist and songwriter Loreen. It was released as the third single from her debut studio album Heal (2012). The song was written by Thomas G:son, Peter Boström and produced by Boström and SeventyEight. It is best known as Sweden's winning entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The song won the competition with a total of 372 points, the then second-highest point total in the contest's history. The song received the highest number of maximum (12) points of any entry in the contest's history with eighteen countries giving the song their top marks.
Bad 25 is the 25th anniversary edition reissue of American singer Michael Jackson's seventh studio album Bad. This is the second album by Jackson re-released on its 25th anniversary. In a press release by The Michael Jackson Company LLC on May 3, 2012, the album, which sold 35 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling albums of all time, was re-released on September 18, 2012 with co-operation with Epic, Legacy Recordings and MJJ Productions. Along with the original album, Bad 25 contains demo recordings recorded during the Bad era, with the deluxe edition also containing a live CD and DVD of Jackson's performance at Wembley Stadium during his Bad world tour.
"Kedvesem" is the Hungarian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö. It was performed by singer ByeAlex.
"Nobody but You" is a song by Austrian singer Cesár Sampson. The song represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The song title was revealed to the public on 7 December 2017, and was composed by Sampson himself, Boris Milanov and Sebastian Arman, and by Swedish songwriter Joacim Persson who has been involved in the composition of a number of songs for Bulgaria, notably Poli Genova's Eurovision 2016 entry "If Love Was a Crime" and in Kristian Kostov's Eurovision 2017 entry "Beautiful Mess" and by Swedish songwriter Johan Alkenäs. "Nobody but You" was released on 9 March 2018.
