This is a list of the Austrian number-one singles and albums of 2016 as compiled by Ö3 Austria Top 40, the official chart provider of Austria. [1]

Ö3 Austria Top 40 is the official Austrian singles chart, as well as the radio show which presents it, aired Fridays on Hitradio Ö3. The show presents the Austrian singles, ringtones and downloads chart. It premiered on 26 November 1968 as Disc Parade and was presented by Ernst Grissemann. The show has had other names and other presenters, as detailed below.

"Dedication to My Ex " is a song by R&B recording artist Lloyd, released on August 9, 2011 as the third single from his fourth studio album, King of Hearts (2011). The song, produced by Polow da Don and D. Smith from Zone 4 productions, features a verse from André 3000 of OutKast and is "narrated" by Lloyd's frequent collaborator and fellow New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne. The brass instrumentation was performed by Siraaj Amnesia James. The song was edited for radio in the United Kingdom, replacing the word "pussy" with "lovin'". The single performed average domestically, but reached the top 5 in the UK, Australia, and Ireland, also reaching the top 10 in Denmark, Netherlands and Austria. "Euphoria" is a song performed by Swedish recording artist and songwriter Loreen. It was released as the third single from her debut studio album Heal (2012). The song was written by Thomas G:son, Peter Boström and produced by Boström and SeventyEight. It is best known as Sweden's winning entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The song won the competition with a total of 372 points, the then second-highest point total in the contest's history. The song received the highest number of maximum (12) points of any entry in the contest's history with eighteen countries giving the song their top marks.

Bad 25 is the 25th anniversary edition reissue of American singer Michael Jackson's seventh studio album Bad. This is the second album by Jackson re-released on its 25th anniversary. In a press release by The Michael Jackson Company LLC on May 3, 2012, the album, which sold 35 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling albums of all time, was re-released on September 18, 2012 with co-operation with Epic, Legacy Recordings and MJJ Productions. Along with the original album, Bad 25 contains demo recordings recorded during the Bad era, with the deluxe edition also containing a live CD and DVD of Jackson's performance at Wembley Stadium during his Bad world tour.

"Nobody but You" is a song by Austrian singer Cesár Sampson. The song represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The song title was revealed to the public on 7 December 2017, and was composed by Sampson himself, Boris Milanov and Sebastian Arman, and by Swedish songwriter Joacim Persson who has been involved in the composition of a number of songs for Bulgaria, notably Poli Genova's Eurovision 2016 entry "If Love Was a Crime" and in Kristian Kostov's Eurovision 2017 entry "Beautiful Mess" and by Swedish songwriter Johan Alkenäs. "Nobody but You" was released on 9 March 2018.
