This is a list of the Austrian number-one singles and albums of 2018 as compiled by Ö3 Austria Top 40, the official chart provider of Austria. [1]
Ö3 Austria Top 40 is the official Austrian singles chart, as well as the radio show which presents it, aired Fridays on Hitradio Ö3. The show presents the Austrian singles, ringtones and downloads chart. It premiered on 26 November 1968 as Disc Parade and was presented by Ernst Grissemann. The show has had other names and other presenters, as detailed below.

"Zombie" is a protest song by Irish rock band The Cranberries, written about the 1993 IRA bombing in Warrington, and in memory of two young victims, Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry. It was released in September 1994 as the lead single from their second studio album, No Need to Argue (1994). It preceded the release of No Need to Argue by two weeks. The song was written by the band's lead singer Dolores O'Riordan, and reached No. 1 on the charts in Australia, Belgium, France, Denmark and Germany.
"Over and Over" is a song recorded by American rapper Nelly. It was released on September 12, 2004 as the second single from his fourth album Suit. It was released two days before Sweat and Suit hit stores. It features American country music singer Tim McGraw. The song, which was written by Nelly, Jayson "KoKo" Bridges, James D. Hargrove, and Tim McGraw, peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100. Musicians contributing to the recording include Jeremy von Nida, Guitar, Bryan Loss, Drums, and Matthew Brauss, Bass Guitar.
"Angel" is a song by Jamaican reggae artist Shaggy featuring Rayvon. It was the follow-up to Shaggy's international number-one hit "It Wasn't Me", released in late 2000. "Angel" proved to be almost as successful, reaching number one in many countries, including Australia, Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
"What Is Love" is a song recorded by Trinidadian-German Eurodance artist Haddaway for his debut album, The Album. The song is recognizable by its refrain "What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me... no more." It was a massive hit in Europe, becoming a number-one hit in at least 13 countries and reaching number two in Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Outside Europe, the song was moderately successful, reaching number 11 in the United States, number 12 in Australia, number 17 in Canada, and number 48 in New Zealand.
"Now or Never" is a song by German recording artist Mark Medlock, the winner of the fourth season of the reality television talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar, broadcast on RTL in 2007. Serving as both his coronation song and debut single, the song was written and produced by DSDS judge Dieter Bohlen. Released in May 2007, it reached the top of the singles charts in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
"Sex Bomb" is a song recorded by Welsh singer Tom Jones. Performed in collaboration with German DJ and record producer Mousse T., it was released in May 2000 and became the biggest single from Jones' 1999 album Reload. It became a smash hit across Europe, reaching number one in France and Switzerland, while also becoming a top-three hit in the United Kingdom, Austria, Iceland, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Walloon Belgium. The "Peppermint Disco Mix", a club version with house music beats, contains a sample from "All American Girls" by Sister Sledge and has been used as the opening theme song of the WB Network television series Grosse Pointe. A jazzier "swing version" appears on Mousse T.'s 2001 debut solo album Gourmet De Funk.
"I'll Be Missing You" is a song recorded by American rapper Puff Daddy and American singer Faith Evans, featuring R&B group 112, in memory of fellow Bad Boy Records artist Christopher "The Notorious B.I.G." Wallace, who was murdered on March 9, 1997.
"Perfect" is a song by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran from his third studio album, ÷ (2017). After the album's release it charted at number four on the UK Singles Chart. On 21 August 2017, Billboard announced that "Perfect" would be the fourth single from the album. The song was serviced to pop radio on 26 September 2017, as the third single from the album in the United States. The song eventually reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100 in December 2017. "Perfect" became the UK Christmas number-one song for 2017, and also peaked at number one in sixteen other countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand.
"Helium" is a song written by Sia and Chris Braide and included on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack. A remixed version with David Guetta and Afrojack was released on 25 January 2018.
"River" is a song by American rapper Eminem featuring guest vocals by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. It is the fifth track from his ninth solo studio album Revival (2017). The song was written by Mathers, Sheeran and Emile Haynie, and produced by Haynie. "River" was released to radio on December 15, 2017, in Italy, and in the UK on January 5, 2018, as the album's second single. The music video received a nomination for Best Cinematography at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. "River" details the struggles of a failing relationship that culminates in an abortion.
"Nobody but You" is a song by Austrian singer Cesár Sampson. The song represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The song title was revealed to the public on 7 December 2017, and was composed by Sampson himself, Boris Milanov and Sebastian Arman, and by Swedish songwriter Joacim Persson who has been involved in the composition of a number of songs for Bulgaria, notably Poli Genova's Eurovision 2016 entry "If Love Was a Crime" and in Kristian Kostov's Eurovision 2017 entry "Beautiful Mess" and by Swedish songwriter Johan Alkenäs. "Nobody but You" was released on 9 March 2018.
"Jackie Chan" is a song with vocals by Canadian rapper Preme and American rapper Post Malone. The track was originally featured on Preme's debut full-length album, Light of Day, released on May 4, 2018. Upon hearing the vocal in the studio, Dutch DJ Tiësto and Canadian DJ Dzeko decided to produce an alternate version with crossover club appeal, for release as a single.
"Born to Be Yours" is a song written and performed by Norwegian music producer Kygo and American band Imagine Dragons. Produced by Kygo, it was released by Sony and Ultra Music on 15 June 2018. It is also included on the international deluxe edition of their fourth studio album, Origins.
"Survival" is a song by Canadian rapper Drake from his album, Scorpion (2018), the song has reached the top 20 in Canada, Portugal, and the United States.
"Elevate" is a song by Canadian rapper Drake from his album, Scorpion (2018), The song features additional uncredited vocals by French Montana, the song has reached the top 20 in Canada and the United States.
"Talk Up" is a song by Canadian rapper Drake from his album, Scorpion (2018). The song features American rapper Jay-Z and additional uncredited vocals by Baka Not Nice. The song has reached the top 20 in Canada and the United States.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again: The Movie Soundtrack is the soundtrack album for the 2018 musical film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. It was released on July 13, 2018 by Capitol and Polydor Records in the United States and internationally, respectively. The album was produced by Benny Andersson, who also served as the album's executive producer alongside Björn Ulvaeus and Judy Craymer. Cher's vocals were produced by Mark Taylor, with her being the only singer on that album to have a different producer for the vocals. Commercially, the album has peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and at number one in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Greece and Scotland.
"In My Mind" is a 2012 song by the Australian house music producer and DJ, Ivan Gough and the house music duo Feenixpawl featuring the vocals of the indie pop musician Georgi Kay.
"Happier" is a song by American music producer Marshmello and British band Bastille. Written and produced by Marshmello, with lyrics from Dan Smith and Steve Mac, it was released by Astralwerks on August 17, 2018. It reached number two on both the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100 and is the highest charting single for Marshmello in both the UK and the US. It is also Bastille's highest charting single as well on both charts surpassing their 2013 single "Pompeii"'s number five peak on the Hot 100 and tying at its number two peak on the UK chart.
