Shawnee is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States. It is the seventh-most populous municipality in the Kansas City metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 67,311.

Phillip D. Kline is a former American attorney who served as a Kansas state legislator, district attorney of Johnson County, and Kansas Attorney General. Kline, a member of the Republican Party, lost re-election as attorney general to Democratic challenger Paul J. Morrison in 2006. Kline was appointed by the Republican County Central Committee to fill the vacancy left by Morrison's election as Kansas Attorney General, becoming district attorney of Johnson County on the day he left office as attorney general and essentially switching jobs with Morrison. Kline then ran for a full term as district attorney, but was defeated in the 2008 Republican primary.

Shawn Womack is an American lawyer and judge serving as an associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. He is formerly a circuit court judge for the 14th Judicial District of Arkansas. Earlier, Womack served from 2001 to 2009 as a state senator for District 1, which includes his own Baxter County. During part of his Senate tenure, Womack was the Senate Minority Leader. From 1999 to 2003, he was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives.

Cindy Neighbor is a current Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, who represents the 18th district. She first served from 2003 to 2004 as a Republican, and then served as a Democrat from 2007 to 2011. Neighbor ran for re-election in 2010 and was defeated by Republican John Rubin. Neighbor ran again in 2016 and reclaimed her seat, from Erik Jenkins, the Republican who ran to replace the retiring Rubin.

Nick Jordan is an American Republican politician who was formerly a member of the Kansas State Senate for the 10th District, which is centered on Shawnee, Kansas. He was also the unsuccessful Republican candidate for Kansas's 3rd congressional district in 2008, losing to Democratic incumbent Dennis Moore. When Moore decided not to run for another term in 2010, Jordan briefly ran for the seat once again before dropping out. Jordan was nominated by Governor-elect Sam Brownback to serve as his Secretary of Revenue. His nomination was confirmed by the State Senate.

Scott Joseph Schwab is an American politician serving as the 32nd Secretary of State of Kansas. He served as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 49th district, from 2009 to 2019. He also served as Speaker pro tempore of the Kansas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019. He received national attention when his son, Caleb, was killed in an accident on the Schlitterbahn Kansas City, Kansas water park's Verrückt water slide. In November 2018, he was elected Kansas Secretary of State.

Mary Pilcher-Cook is a former Republican member of the Kansas Senate, representing the 10th district from 2009 to 2020. She was a representative on the Kansas House of Representatives from 2000 to 2002 and from 2004 to 2006. She was elected to the Kansas Senate 2008 and re-elected in 2012 and 2016. On December 27, 2019, she announced that she would resign from the Senate effective January 16, 2020, a year before her term expired.

He was appointed on March 16, 2010, by Governor Mark Parkinson to replace Ron Thornburgh who resigned on February 15, 2010. On Nov. 2nd, 2010, he was defeated for election to a full term by a wide margin.

Jason David Kander is an American attorney, author, veteran, and politician. A Democrat, he served as the 39th secretary of state of Missouri, from 2013 to 2017. He had previously served as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2013. Before entering politics, he was an intelligence officer in the Army Reserve. He served in Afghanistan and achieved the rank of captain.

Mike Cierpiot is a Republican member of the Missouri Senate. He represents the 30th District, which encompasses a part of Jackson County.

Stephanie Clayton is an American politician who has served as a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives from the 19th district since 2013. She was elected as a Republican, but after winning reelection on November 9, 2018, with 58.9% of the vote, she announced she was changing her party affiliation on December 19, 2018.

Bollier was the Democratic nominee in the 2020 United States Senate election in Kansas, losing in the general election to Republican congressman Roger Marshall.

Kelechi "KC" Ohaebosim is a Nigerian-American politician. He has served as a Democratic member for the 89th district in the Kansas House of Representatives since 2017. Ohaebosim's district comprises portions of Wichita, Kansas.

Tom Cox is an American politician who served as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 17th district in Johnson County.

Michael Lowry Thompson is an American politician, meteorologist and weather forecaster who is currently a member of the Kansas Senate representing the 10th Senate district in Johnson County, Kansas. He was appointed to the senate in January 2020 by Republican Party precinct committee members in the 10th District following the resignation of Mary Pilcher-Cook, and took office on January 21, 2020, following a formal appointment by Governor Laura Kelly.
