The president of the Senate of Paraguay is the presiding officer in the Senate of Paraguay. The president is elected by the Senate of Paraguay for one-year term.

Paraguayan foreign policy has concentrated on maintaining good relations with its neighbors, and it has been an active proponent of regional co-operation. It is a member of the United Nations and has served one term in the UN Security Council in 1967-1969. It maintains membership in several international financial institutions, including the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the International Monetary Fund. It also belongs to the Organization of American States, the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), the Rio Group, INTERPOL, MERCOSUR and UNASUR.
Bernardino Caballero de Añazco Melgarejo y Genes was a Paraguayan military officer and politician, serving as a General during the Paraguayan War and later as President of Paraguay between September 1880 and November 1886. He was the founder of the Colorado Party in September 1887, the largest political party in Paraguay currently, along with the Liberal Party in second position.
Adolfo Saguier was a Paraguayan politician who served as the nation's Vice President from 1878 to 1880.

Orlando Javier Elizeche is a Paraguayan Long Distance runner from Encarnación. He represented Paraguay at the 2008 South American Cross Country Championships, 2011 South American Cross Country Championships and 2014 South American Cross Country Championships and is tied to Club Bella Vista in the Federación Paraguaya de Atletismo. At the 2014 South American Cross Country Championships, he finished in 19th position of the Senior men's 12 km race event in a time of 40:48.02.
Christopher Ortiz is a Paraguayan sprinter and high jumper and is a national record holder. He belongs to the Paraguay Marathon Club. In 2018, he achieved two national records in 300 metres hurdles and 150 metres hurdles. In April 2018, he achieved his best result in the 100 metre sprint of 10.47 seconds.
The National Order of Merit of Paraguay is an award given by the government of Paraguay. The award was first established in 1865 and can be given to any person or organization that has contributed in some way to the benefit of Paraguay.
The Governor of Bohol is the local chief executive of the provincial government of Bohol, Philippines. The governor holds office at the Bohol New Provincial Capitol in Tagbilaran City and its official residence is at the Governor's Mansion located along Carlos P. Garcia Avenue in Cogon District, also in Tagbilaran. Like all local government heads in the Philippines, the governor is elected via popular vote, and may not be elected for a fourth consecutive term. In case of death, resignation or incapacity, the vice governor becomes the governor. Along with the governor of Cebu, city mayors of Cebu, Lapu-lapu, and Mandaue, the province's chief executive is a member of the Regional Development Council of the Central Visayas Region.
Venancio Víctor López Otazú was a Paraguayan journalist, diplomat and professor of law. He was a grandson of Carlos Antonio López, who was the leader of Paraguay between 1841 and 1862, and nephew of Francisco Solano López, president of Paraguay between 1862 and 1870.
Juan Antonio Jara Pereira was a Paraguayan politician and lawyer; he was vice president of Paraguay between 1882 and 1886, during Bernardino Caballero's presidency.
