A water park is an amusement park that features water play areas such as swimming pools, water slides, splash pads, water playgrounds, and lazy rivers, as well as areas for floating, bathing, swimming, and other barefoot environments. Modern water parks may also be equipped with some type of artificial surfing or bodyboarding environment, such as a wave pool or flowrider.
Hurricane Harbor is a chain of water parks that are part of the Six Flags theme park chain. Although the parks are not identical, common features include a variety of body slides, speed slides, tube slides, wave pools, lazy rivers, and shopping areas.
Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast is a water park situated in Oxenford, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, owned and operated by Village Roadshow Theme Parks. In 2019, the park received 1,120,000 visitors making it the most visited water park in Australia and the 19th most visited water park in the world. Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast is located adjacent to Warner Bros. Movie World, a movie-related park also owned by Village Roadshow Theme Parks. The park remains open all year with all of the pools and slides heated during the winter months. It is one of several water parks operating under the Wet'n'Wild brand globally.
The Hibiscus Coast is a populated area on a stretch of the Hauraki Gulf coast in New Zealand's Auckland Region. It has a population of 60,000, making it the 11th most populous urban area in New Zealand, and the second most populous in the Auckland Region, behind Auckland itself.
WildWater Adventure is a water park in Muskegon, Michigan, located next door to Michigan's Adventure, and owned by Cedar Fair, Admission is included in the Michigan's Adventure ticket.
Alton Towers Waterpark, previously known as Cariba Creek, is a water park at Alton Towers Resort, in Staffordshire, England. It is themed to a tropical lagoon, adjoining the Splash Landings Hotel with indoor and outdoor water features.
Caribbean Bay is an indoor/outdoor water park located in Yongin, South Korea, on the outskirts of Seoul. Opened in 1996. Caribbean Bay is part of the Everland Resort, but requires a separate admission fee.
Aqua Adventure is a water park located in Central Park in Fremont, California.
Sugarworld is an Australian council-owned community water park, located in Edmonton, Queensland. Its main attractions are water slides, pools, mini-golf and the canteen area. Sugarworld also includes a large amount of land occupied with a large variety of native animals and plant life. In 2010, Sugarworld closed due to safety precautions regarding the condition and maintenance of the water slides, which was judged to be too low to be safe. The topic of the park became a community debate, with most of the Edmonton community wanting the park to re-open. After significant discussions, a complete renovation of the water slides was set to occur sometime by December 2011, with the park re-opening before 2012. On Monday 20 December 2011, the park reopened its water slides and no further issues have been reported. In February, 2017 Belgravia Leisure group were appointed by Cairns Regional Council to manage the facility. In October 2018 a 9-hole adventure mini-golf course was completed and opened to the public as a new feature of the waterpark.
Wet'n'Wild is a brand used for many water parks across the world owned by Village Roadshow Theme Parks and EPR Properties. It is distinct from the Wet 'n Wild brand originally owned by SeaWorld creator George Millay or Wet N' Wild Waterworld, a stand-alone water park in Anthony, Texas, US.
Big Splash was a former waterpark located at East Coast Park in Singapore that operated between 1977 and 2006. It was later redeveloped into a dining and recreation area named Playground @ Big Splash, which opened in 2008. The site was demolished in 2017.
