Aars or Års is a Danish town with a population of 8,246 (2017) in Himmerland, Denmark. Administratively, Aars is the municipal seat of Vesthimmerland municipality and biggest town of Vesthimmerland municipality, Region Nordjylland since 2007 and it was also the seat of the mayor in the now abolished Aars Municipality. The town was founded in the 14th century. It is one of the four principal towns of Vesthimmerland, the other ones being Farsø, Løgstør and Aalestrup. Aars is a former railway town. It is currently the 76 largest city in Denmark just behind Ribe but in front of Helsinge. It is the 9th biggest town/city in Region Nordjylland in front of Skagen but behind Sæby. The town has the nickname Cimbri's town.
Farsø is a town with a population of 3,299 in Region Nordjylland in Denmark in the Vesthimmerland municipality. Farsø was the birthplace of Johannes Vilhelm Jensen, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1944. The village of Vognsild is located to the west of Farsø. Farsø is also called one of the head cities of Vesthimmerland municipality along with Aars, Løgstør and Aalestrup.
Løgstør is a town in Denmark with a population of 4,284 It is located 47 km west of Aalborg and 64 km north of Viborg. Løgstør city centre consist of old streets with small houses built in the 1800s for fishermen and sailors. One of these houses was donated by Danish housemen to the author and poet Johan Skjoldborg in 1918, who lived in the house until his death. It is located on Johan Skjoldborgs Vej.

Aars Municipality -Aars Municipality was formed by Kommunalreformen in 1970 which made the Parishes into municipalitys. Before the Kommunalreformen, it was a municipality in northern Denmark, in the county of North Jutland on the peninsula of Jutland. The municipality covers an area of 223 km², and had a total population of 13,284 (2005). Its latest mayor was Knud V. Christensen, a member of the Conservative People's Party political party. On January 1, 2007 Aars municipality ceased to exist and was merged with the former Farsø, Løgstør, and Aalestrup municipalities to form the new Vesthimmerland municipality, with an area of 815 km² and a total population of 39,176 (2005).
Borremose is a raised bog in central Himmerland, Denmark south east of the town of Aars. The name translates directly as 'Borre'-bog, where 'Borre' might well be a derivation of the old word burgh meaning fortified place, as seen in many other place-names.
