The Lithia Fountain is a fountain in Ashland, Oregon, United States, installed in 1927. [1] [2] [3] Health benefits of water from the fountain, and the city's others, have been debated. [4]

High barium levels forced the city's public works department to turn off the fountains temporarily in 2016. [5] [6]

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is a regional repertory theatre in Ashland, Oregon, United States, founded in 1935 by Angus L. Bowmer. From late February through October each year, the Festival now offers 800 to 850 matinee and evening performances of a wide range of classic and contemporary plays not limited to Shakespeare to a total annual audience of nearly 400,000. The Festival welcomed its millionth visitor in 1971, its 10-millionth in 2001, and its 20-millionth visitor in 2015. At any given time between five and eleven plays are offered in daily rotation six days a week in its three theatres.

The Academy's program was mainly based on the Russian Academic System. This system followed the artistic achievements of the Renaissance, developed and practiced by European academies until the end of 19th century.

Occupy Ashland included a peaceful protest and demonstration against economic inequality, corporate greed and the influence of corporations and lobbyists on government which has taken place in Ashland, Oregon, United States since 6 October 2011. The protests began in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York. Alan W. DeBoer is an American businessman and Republican politician. He served as mayor of Ashland, Oregon from 2001 until 2004, and also served on the Ashland City Council and School Board. DeBoer ran for the Oregon House of Representatives in 2016, however was nominated by the Republican Party as their candidate for the seat vacated by the death of State Senator Alan Bates in August 2016. He was elected to the Oregon State Senate in November 2016, defeating Democrat Tonia Moro by about 500 votes.
