The Little Bourbeuse River is a stream in Crawford, Gasconade and Franklin counties in the Ozarks of Missouri. [1] It is a tributary of the Bourbeuse River.
The stream headwaters arise in Crawford County just south of the community of Leasburg at 38°05′14″N91°17′34″W / 38.08722°N 91.29278°W . [1] The stream flows generally north passing under Interstate 44 approximately three miles northeast of Cuba. It enters southwestern Franklin County 1.5 miles north of the community of Argo. The stream flows north adjacent to the Franklin-Gasconade county line and crosses into Gasconade County for a short distance before turning east and north to enter the Bourbeuse River 2.5 miles northeast of the community of Japan at 38°15′52″N91°20′30″W / 38.26444°N 91.34167°W . The Bourbeuse River is a river located in east-central Missouri, in the Ozarks region, and is one of two major tributaries of the Meramec River, the other being the Big River. The Bourbeuse flows to the northeast from its source near the locale of Dillon just northeast of Rolla in Phelps County, through Maries, Gasconade, Crawford, and Franklin counties, where it discharges into the Meramec River near Moselle. The elevation of the river at its source is approximately 1,140 feet (350 m) above sea level and at its mouth about 463 feet (141 m). The total length of the river is 154 miles (248 km), while the airline distance between source and mouth is 53 miles (85 km). The watershed area is 842.9 square miles (2,183 km2).
The Gasconade River is about 280 miles (450 km) long and is located in central and south-central Missouri.
Redbird is an unincorporated community in southern Gasconade County, Missouri, United States. The community lies on Price Creek, a small tributary of the Bourbeuse River and approximately one half mile southwest of the Bourbeuse. Owensville lies about eleven miles to the north-northeast and St. James lies about twelve miles to the south-southwest.
