Not the Nine O'Clock News is a British television sketch comedy show which was broadcast on BBC2 from 1979 to 1982. Originally shown as a comedy alternative to the Nine O'Clock News on BBC1, it features satirical sketches on then-current news stories and popular culture, as well as parody songs, comedy sketches, re-edited videos, and spoof television formats. The programme features Rowan Atkinson, Pamela Stephenson, Mel Smith, and Griff Rhys Jones, as well as Chris Langham in the first series.
Some Time in New York City is a part-studio, part-live double album by John Lennon & Yoko Ono, with the American rock band Elephant's Memory & Invisible Strings. Released in June 1972 in the US and in September 1972 in the UK on Apple Records, it is Lennon's third post-Beatles solo album. Like Lennon's previous solo albums, it was co-produced by Lennon, Ono and Phil Spector. The album's lyrics are very politically charged compared to its predecessors, discussing political and social issues and topics such as sexism, incarceration, colonialism, and racism.
Kathleen Edwards is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. Her 2003 debut album, Failer, contained the singles "Six O'Clock News" and "Hockey Skates". Her next two albums – Back to Me and Asking for Flowers – both made the Billboard 200 list and reached the top 10 of Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. In 2012, Edwards' fourth studio album, Voyageur, became Edwards' first album to crack the top 100 and top 40 in the U.S., peaking at #39 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and #2 in Canada. In 2012, Edwards' song "A Soft Place To Land" won the SOCAN Songwriting Prize, an annual competition that honours the best song written and released by 'emerging' songwriters over the past year, as voted by the public. The Bowery is a street and neighborhood in the southern portion of the New York City borough of Manhattan. The street runs from Chatham Square at Park Row, Worth Street, and Mott Street in the south to Cooper Square at 4th Street in the north. The eponymous neighborhood runs roughly from the Bowery east to Allen Street and First Avenue, and from Canal Street north to Cooper Square/East Fourth Street. The neighborhood roughly overlaps with Little Australia. To the south is Chinatown, to the east are the Lower East Side and the East Village, and to the west are Little Italy and NoHo. It has historically been considered a part of the Lower East Side.
Kasabian are an English rock band formed in Leicester in 1997 by Tom Meighan, Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Karloff, and Chris Edwards. The current, official lineup of the band consists of Pizzorno, Edwards and Ian Matthews who joined Kasabian in 2004. Karloff left the band in 2006 and founded a new band called Black Onassis. Jay Mehler joined as touring lead guitarist in 2006. Mehler left the band for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013, to be replaced by Tim Carter. Meighan left the band in July 2020.

The song was released as the Third single in the first quarter of 2005 and reached the top fifty in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 44. Following the success of "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover", "Wisemen" was re-released in the spring of 2006, number 21 in New Zealand, and at number 23 in the UK. The song was met with positive reviews.
"Acquiesce" is a song by the English rock band Oasis, written by Noel Gallagher. The song originally appeared as a B-side to Oasis' first UK number-one single, "Some Might Say", on 24 April 1995. Previously she worked as a professional choral singer and educator.
"11 O'Clock Tick Tock" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It was released as a single on 16 May 1980, and was produced by Martin Hannett. It followed their debut EP Three and the single "Another Day." It was the group's first release for Island Records. "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" did not chart at the time of its original release, but after it was reissued for Record Store Day 2020 in commemoration of its 40th anniversary, it reached number 69 on the Irish Singles Chart.
MacLean & MacLean were a Juno Award nominated, Canadian musical-comedy duo. They performed regularly in Canada between 1972 and 1998, and recorded seven albums. The duo consisted of brothers Gary MacLean and Blair MacLean. The MacLeans were originally from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, but were later based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Thousands were dropped on the audience as a theatrical gimmick at the end of the song "Moneytalks" during the band's tour to promote their 1990 album The Razors Edge.

Bob Moses is a Canadian electronic duo based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Formed in New York City, the band consists of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance. A remix of their song "Tearing Me Up" by RAC won a Grammy Award for best remixed recording, non-classical.
