Logabirum was documented for the first time in 1439 as Loghebeerne. [1] Before the spelling of Logabirum was fixed, it had a number of different variations. e.g.
There are also many different ways of interpreting the origins of the name.
One possibility is that "Loghe" or "Loech" comes from German and meant "locality/local/village". "Beerum" or "Berum" means forest, thus "Logabirum" meant village at the forest. After G. Lohse and H. Thomas thought "birum" should be to attributed to the Germanic word "bir" (farmstead). Thus "Berum" would mean "in the yards" and Logabirum "in the yards with Loga".
Another interpretation again comes from that Celtic origins, i.e. "Lo" - height, "ge" - green country, "berum" - "homestead of the bears". Here it is considered that the forest in its current shape was only cultivated by the count house and thus is substantially younger.
Logabirum was built on a geest, oriented southwest-northeast. Based on different investigations and urn findings, the oldest traces of habitation around Logabirum date back to before 2000 BC, more specifically in Siebenbergen. There was an old dolmen field, from which only one or two dolmens remain in a small forest.
Landmarks in Logabirum include the church, which was probably built around 1300. Additionally, the only mill in the Leer area can be found in Logabirum. [2] This mill has been in the possession of the Eicklenborg family since its construction in 1895. [3]
In 1973, Logabirum became part of the city of Leer in East Frisia (Lower Saxony). [4] Nevertheless, it retained much of its village atmosphere.

The history of East Frisia developed rather independently from the rest of Germany because the region was relatively isolated for centuries by large stretches of bog to the south, while at the same time its people were oriented towards the sea. Thus in East Frisia in the Middle Ages there was little feudalism, instead a system of fellowship under the so-called Friesian Freedom emerged. It was not until 1464, that the House of Cirksena was enfeoffed with the Imperial County of East Frisia. Nevertheless absolutism had been, and continued to be, unknown in East Frisia. In the two centuries after about 1500, the influence of the Netherlands is discernable - politically, economically and culturally. In 1744, the county lost its independence within the Holy Roman Empire and became part of Prussia. Following the Vienna Congress of 1815, it was transferred to the Kingdom of Hanover, in 1866 it went back to Prussia and, from 1946, it has been part of the German state of Lower Saxony.

The Pfadfinderbund Weltenbummler e.V.(Scouts' Association Globetrotter) is an inter-confessional and apolitical German Scout association founded in 1981. It has about 2000 members and is part of the World Federation of Independent Scouts (WFIS), the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE), the German Scout Association (DPV), the Bavarian Scout Council and the German Parity Welfare Association. It is recognized by German law as a charitable and nonprofit organization. The association is built on the principles constituted by Robert Baden-Powell. The scout uniform is dark blue; they wear black pants and striped neckerchiefs with varied woogles.

"Das Grab ist leer, der Held erwacht" is a Catholic hymn for Easter, first printed in 1777 in the hymnal Landshuter Gesangbuch published by Franz Seraph von Kohlbrenner. Keeping only the first of five stanzas, with additional two stanzas, it appeared in hymnals of the 19th century, and later in different versions in several regional sections of the Catholic hymnal Gotteslob. It is a frequently sung hymn in Easter services.
The December 2021 Christian Democratic Union leadership election was held in December 2021. The leader of the party was elected indirectly by a party convention, for the first time the CDU held a vote by the membership to decide the candidate which the party's executive board proposed to the party convention. Though the convention is not obliged to elect the proposed candidates, the membership vote is considered politically binding. The online vote of members was from 4 December to 16 December 2021 and the convention in Hanover on 21 and 22 January 2022 formalised the election.

Die 1895 erbaute Holländerwindmühlc Eiklenborg ist zugleidt Sligemühle. Sie ist ein schöner Galeriehulllinder mit Windrose. 1945 erhielt die Mühle beim lieindeinmarseh einen Volltreffer, wurde aber wieder instand gesetzt.
