Logan Schuss (born January 23, 1991 [1] ) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player with the Calgary Roughnecks. [1] He previously played with the Vancouver Warriors, Vancouver Stealth, and Minnesota Swarm. [2] He was the 1st overall pick in the 2013 National Lacrosse League Draft. [3]

Early career and education

Schuss grew up in Delta, BC, and played for the Delta Islanders in his youth. [4] He later attended Ohio State University. During his collegiate career, Schuss earned numerous accolades, including being a three-time NCAA All-American and the 2010 ECAC Rookie of the Year. [5]

Professional career

Logan Schuss was drafted first overall in the 2013 NLL Draft by the Minnesota Swarm, where he quickly established himself by leading all rookies in scoring in his debut season and earning the NLL Rookie of the Year award in 2014. [6] Throughout his career, he has played for the Vancouver Stealth, Vancouver Warriors, and most recently, the Calgary Roughnecks in the NLL. [2] In the WLA, Schuss has been a key player for the New Westminster Salmonbellies, where he led the league in scoring in 2018. [7]

Recent activities and coaching

In 2023, Schuss took on a coaching role with the New Westminster Salmonbellies while recovering from an ACL surgery. [8] He serves as the team's offensive coach, bringing his expertise and experience to the sidelines. [8] Schuss is also involved with Fusion West Lacrosse as the Box Lacrosse Director and Offensive Coordinator, working with young athletes to develop their skills. [9]

From 2005 to 2007, he played for the Coquitlam, BC, Adanacs of the BC Junior A Lacrosse League.

Tom Johnson, is a professional lacrosse forward for the Edmonton Rush of the National Lacrosse League and the Burnaby Lakers of the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA).

Curtis Dickson is a Canadian professional lacrosse player who currently plays for the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League. Dickson previously played for the San Diego Seals and prior to signing with the Seals in August 2022, he also played 11 seasons with the Calgary Roughnecks. The 2012 National Lacrosse League season, the 26th in the history of the NLL, began on January 8, 2012 and ended with the Championship game on May 19, 2012. The Rochester Knighthawks won their third NLL Championship, and first-ever in Rochester, defeating the Edmonton Rush 9-6 in the final game.

Jeff Cornwall is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Vancouver Stealth in the National Lacrosse League. Cornwall was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NLL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Bandits. His brother Travis plays for the Panther City Lacrosse Club.

The 2013 National Lacrosse League season, the 27th in the history of the NLL, began on January 5, 2013 and ended with the Championship game on May 11, 2013. The Rochester Knighthawks overcame a mediocre 8-8 season to get hot in the playoffs for the second straight year, defeating the Philadelphia Wings, Minnesota Swarm, and Washington Stealth to win their second straight Championship. The Knighthawks became the first team to repeat as NLL Champions since the 2002-2003 Toronto Rock.

The 2014 National Lacrosse League season, the 28th in the history of the NLL, began on December 28, 2013 and ended on May 31, 2014, the date of Game 2 and 3 of the championship series. After finishing the regular season atop the East Division, the Rochester Knighthawks continued winning in the playoffs and took their third consecutive Champion's Cup, the first time a team has won the league title three straight years.

The 2015 National Lacrosse League season, the 29th in the history of the NLL, began on January 2, 2015, and ended with Game 2 of the Champion's Cup Finals series on June 5, 2015. In the finals, the Edmonton Rush defeated the Toronto Rock two games to none to win their first-ever Champion's Cup.

Frankie Scigliano is a Canadian professional lacrosse goaltender for the San Diego Seals in the National Lacrosse League. He was a second round draft pick in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft.

Curtis Manning is a Canadian professional indoor lacrosse transition who plays for the Calgary Roughnecks in the National Lacrosse League, wearing #10. Since turning professional in 2010, he has played for the Roughnecks for his entire NLL career. Manning has represented Team Canada in field lacrosse, helping them win silver at the 2010 World Lacrosse Championship.

The 2017 National Lacrosse League season, the 31st in the history of the NLL began on December 29, 2016, and ended with the Champion's Cup Finals series on June 10, 2017, as the Georgia Swarm defeated the Saskatchewan Rush to win their franchise's first Champions Cup.
